What the architect of Obama Care had to say about people.

Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber said that lack of transparency was a major part of getting Obamacare passed because “the stupidity of the American voter” would have killed the law if more people knew what was in it.

This is really unbelievable and the media would be crucifying Obama if he was a republican...basically saying a MAJOR bill was written in a way to dupe the American people and calling the American people "stupid". Like Commando said, there will STILL be people who believe the Obamacare lies, even after the architect of it admits this.

The supposed "most transparent administration" ever is easily the least transparent ever. I cannot tell you my disdain with everything about this administration - where incompetence and arrogance meet...

Is "architech" in the headline an attempt at some kind of funny pun or just a typo?

It was reported by a right wing source so just " MOVE ALONG NOTHING TO SEE HERE " -- Imagine if a Romney or Bush guy said anything remotely close to this . The Libs would be ready for tar and feathers -- Imagine the comedy from the supposedly funny guys whose names I cant remember that the libs eat up .

So he admits they lied to the American people to get the bill passed. Not surprising coming from this administration. Biggest liars ever in office. The Libs will find a way to excuse this. They always do.

No , there is no excuse , they just don't care .

As the architect/architech he designed this to put immense political pressure on the states to set up exchanges. Otherwise, as clearly and without any hesitation here, he explains how it works. If a state does not set up an exchange and its citizens must obtain insurance from the federal 'backstop' - they do not get the tax credit. The law has no provision for a 'federal backstop' anyway.

His pride in explaining this confirms the circumstances of one of the major legal cases still in play on ACA.

Here is the background on the cases at hand. One appeals court, that apparently has illiterate judges, ruled in favor of the existence of the federal exchange. Another, made of literate judges apparently, ruled the federal exchange was not part of the law.

Never did the 'architect' foresee that 34 (or 38) states would not set up exchanges. After all, if they did not their citizens would rebel against that state according to the boastful video above. Well they outsmarted themselves. No ordinary person could understood the exchanges, the tax credits or any of the more detailed workings of this law. So there was no political back lash at the states for passing on the Trojan horse of the law (it will drive Medicaid cost to unsustainable levels in the future). And with so many states passing, the backlash, when it came would not be at the states but at federal government. So it had to 'fix' the strategy - by working with Congress to update the law? No - by creating a new IRS rule and 're-interpreting' the law from its literal and original design.

I've seen this Gruber clown on Megyn Kelly's show a few times...debating Obamacare. He comes across as very arrogant. They have had some heated discussions. I don't watch her show very often but put it on tonight to see if he would be on in light of these comments being made public. She said that she asked him to come on but he declined. I wonder why...

I don't know how EVERYONE is not upset about this - R's and D's. This guy admitted that they had to lie to get it passed and said the American voters are stupid. And he is not a bit sorry about it. It was worth it because he wanted to get the law passed.

Hahahahah. And Nancy Pelosi said "We have to pass Obama Care before we can know what is in it". That has to be the dumbest thing I have heard in the last 6 years. OK, one of the many dumb quotes from the DEMS.

Some arrogant people always think they know what's best for us, it's a basic building block for the nanny state.

Amongst the litany of things the democrat party does that is anti American this has to be near the top -- openly admitting they hid details of a huge Public policy matter to pass it as law . Democrats - do you feel used at all ?do you feel as stupid as one of your ow says you are ? Do you even care ? Chime in .
