No, that's the truth for me. I've admitted that. There are some republican politicians that I like but I don't trust a word that comes out of their mouth and unless I go through some life changes I likely will never vote for a republican again. Republicans and I are on two different wavelengths and I don't live a life full of extremes. Just not my vibe. I will likely never identify with a republican nor trust any republican politician. That's the simple truth.

Being a supporter is great. Being blindly loyal is a different story.

Surely you dont really wish for open borders where people from ?? just flow in and we throw our hands up and say " you are now a US citizen" .

 

I do wish our borders weren't so open. At the same time I can't help but shake the notion that our country was founded by illegal immigrants and IMO it is kind of hypocritical to shun them. We do have to do a better job of patrolling the borders and making sure that entry into our country isn't so easy but I think giving amnesty to those already here is a different issue than securing our borders.

I haven't been to that one because I am not a straight ticket voter. I also would vote for an Independent politician. I voted for Bush in 04 but I'll likely never vote republican again.

 

I do like some things about Rand Paul but I don't think I could pull the trigger on him.

I do not. But I don't think this is ONLY an issue with immigrant families. I have, for a LONG time thrown out my thoughts on what I feel would help with not only the abuse of programs like Medicaid, but other social services as well. The largest issue (IMO) is the lack of a system that is comprehensive, as in all info is stored in one place; all programs are applied for in one place; one has 1 caseworker for all aid programs; unemployment changes.

 

I still feel strongly that MOST people receiving services are legitimately in need of them. But there are ways that we can make the administration of the social services programs more streamlined, and less likely to be abused...and not just abused by the people who receive them, but by those who are in charge of administering them.
