November 7, 201411 yr Up front, I like Andy Dalton. Maybe I'm still in the minority, but I think he can be an efficient quarterback. He just happens to have his worst games on national TV. Now, there are several QBs I would take over Dalton. I'm not that dumb. But none play for the Bengals. So, if you don't like Dalton, what do the Bengals do? Be realistic...
November 8, 201411 yr They will keep him one more year, as would I. I am afraid he is what he is. A little better than average QB that you can win with, but he will not win games for you. One game, albeit the worse I have ever seen, does no define him.
November 8, 201411 yr .... He will 100% be the QB in 2015, because it is guaranteed. Beyond that, I'd say it is TBA.
November 8, 201411 yr I would shop him in the offseason and take the best deal I could get. I'd put him on waivers right now and spread rumors about him being a locker room cancer so that he couldn't sign with another team.
November 8, 201411 yr I would see what Campbell and McCarron can do. It is time to dump Dalton for good. I know he will play good in some games but he ain't got it. Let some other team desperate for help at QB give us a couple of decent draft picks.

Let some other team desperate for help at QB give us a couple of decent draft picks. Campbell is of no use to the Bengals. McCarron cant even get to practice. Dalton is the guy through 2015. I see the Bengals drafting a qb or going after Manzel in the offseason.
November 8, 201411 yr I would shop him in the offseason and take the best deal I could get. I would be interested in what he would bring. Part of me says the Bengals would get nothing basically.......but then part of me says a 3 time playoff QB would bring a nice offer. I just do not know. If the Bengals slide continues and they miss playoffs this year then the high draft choice would make taking a QB a possibility.

Now, there are several QBs I would take over Dalton. I'm not that dumb. But none play for the Bengals. So, if you don't like Dalton, what do the Bengals do? Be realistic... Correction: he happens to have one of the worst games as a QB in the history of a not-so proud franchise. Huge difference in that and "having a bad game on national TV". Wasn't his QBR one of the worst in Bengals' history? On the commute in to work this morning, I heard Dalton's line in primetime games. It isn't very good and the losses outnumber the wins somewhere between 5-10:1.
November 8, 201411 yr Author Not all of these QBs are hall of famers. Yet, I see Dalton as better than some of these guys. November 8, 201411 yr Next week he'll throw a slant to Sanu and he'll take it to the house. He'll toss a jumpball to AJ that he'll win, and he'll be back in the good graces again.
November 8, 201411 yr Dalton simply is a mid-level QB (like Sam Bradford, Carson Palmer) who can do nice things if he has a solid offensive line and a good group of receivers. When injuries hit, however, he lacks the physical tools to pick up the slack with less-than-adequate reserves. Dalton's not going anywhere. He will be the Bengals' QB next year and the year after that.

November 8, 201411 yr Author I'm saying he's no less a quarterback than some of guys on list. Even Ken Anderson was booed out of the first game when they went to Super Bowl XVI. It will be different team when the injuries start to heal.
