The way these admin are firing coaches for having 1 bad season I would say coaches will now be looking over their shoulder like they are at a back stabbing convention!!!!! Coaches new motto will be "get them before they get you"!!!!!

Yep that sounds about right, been happening for about the last 8 to 10 years just more people realize it now. Sometimes it don't even take a coach having a "bad" season for it to happen. Sometimes it's a administer having a buddy that needs a job and you out or " little Jimmy " got his feelings hurt and daddy has some money so he tells administration to get rid of that coach and he will give the school some money.

EXCELLENT POST TT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem today is that 30 years ago old coaches became Principals and Supers. They knew how to run a team and knew how hard it is to win games. They knew that public schools are going to have ups and downs. Today you have to go back to college and get your principal and super certification and coaches don't have time to do that because they are working 12 months a year trying not to get fired!! Now days you have some English teacher that never ran a team, organization much less running a big school and they have no idea how hard it is to win.

I could see para-professionals being the "new" big protocol. There are a lot of super qualified coaches out there that are not teacher certified. I could see it going this way, and no one would ever bat an eye. Athletics are 3rd fiddle at most places in the state, and unfortunately the coaches and parents probably care a great deal more than the administration does about wins and losses, stature, etc...

Whole lot of truth to the bolded.

Also, these days, what you have is a lot of admin who spent very little time actually in the classroom and/or coaching. They got out of those arenas that they didn't enjoy, and now are in big time leadership positions trying to tell people how to do the same job they didn't succeed in or enjoy themselves.

You just described the entire state board of education, Harry. :lol2:

That means Louisville Southern is now open.

Glasgow hired assistant Jeff Garmon.

Was told interviews at Pendleton will be this week and next. A decision could come as last as the first week of March.

Sounding like we're going to hear about who is getting the Cov Cath and Warren East jobs in the next couple of days. LCDAWGS said we're going to be hearing about Pendleton County in a few weeks. The Woodford County and Boone County threads don't look like they have any definite leads at this time. Anyone hearing any updates on any other open positions?
