Green County is filled and should expect announcement tomorrow, if not later tonight. With that said, another job will be open (Out of respect to the coach and current players, I'd rather not say).

CWB...thanks for updating these. If you need confirmation on some of these others that have been filled, here they are.

Madisonville-North Hopkins posted officially yesterday. Taking applications until February 24 so by the time they interview and all that probably looking at first of March to mid-March before something being announced. Heard Hopkins Co. Central has there guy in place just waiting to make the official announcement.

Sout Laurel Open. Expect Jackson to be named the new head coach at Green County.Hunter Jackson resigns at South Laurel

Seems funny Green would fire a coach for winning 2 games, then turn around and hire a coach who only won 2 games.

I think he's related to the basketball coach, and the basketball coach and super are pretty tight from what I have been told.

Not sure that has anything to do with it.

Right you are on all accounts DH. Basketball coach is his father in law.

GG,

I agree. Not that winning 2 games is anything to be ashamed of, many a good, heck even great coaches have had their bad years (stressing the plural form of that). No doubt Coach Jackson will be successful, as will Coach Engstrand in whatever his future holds. But, when you FIRE one and hire another, in particular, with the behind the scenes ties; good ole' boy system to the max right there.

I totally agree many GREAT coaches have had 2 wins or less multiple seasons. I wasn't aware it was the basketball coaches son in law, yes that does make you wonder. Seems back for the former coach and from an outsider looking in seems him got the sort end on this deal. But for Green if the administration is supporting the new hire then it's the first step in having a successful program. As with all coaching jobs now the question is what are they expecting?
