My career goal has always been to get elected president, take the oath and resign. I'd make a great pensioner. So I need a strong number two guy who can get the female vote. And the male vote. I got the rest covered.

All the more reason she should be cooperating with the quarantine. She has seen firsthand what this virus can do. I think it's commendable that she is willing to risk her life to help others in less fortunate countries but that does not excuse her willingness to possibly infect others here even if the odds are minute.

As for the quarantine, the NYC doc who returned from there, then ended up testing positive is enough reason for her to be quarantined. Stop with the governmental grandstanding angle folks, come on.

I don't like her attitude or her stupid reasoning. Was the nurse in Texas showing signs before jumping on a plane to Cleveland? What about the Doc that just came back from Africa that tested positive. If you wait until your are showing symptoms you could have already exposed people.

I see her grandstand as a political move as much as the political move to put her into quarantine may be.

You don't know you have symptoms until you have the symptoms and by then, you could have infected many. I just don't see the issue with 21 days of protecting yourself and others. She has seen how horrible the virus is; all the more reason to do whatever is necessary to prevent it from becoming widespread here.

I agree that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. However, if we are going to quarantine someone for that length of time they should be compensated.

 

Moving forward, when the new rules/legislation get crafted it needs to address any potential financial hardships.

I realize the chances of it happening are slim to none, but I know that if I do happen to be exposed to Ebola at work I will immediately be quarantined in a section of the hospital for 21 days. The thought of that makes me want to start popping Valiums. I can feel her pain.

Nurse Kaci Hickox left her Maine home Thursday morning for a bicycle ride with her boyfriend as police could only watch.

 

"It's a beautiful day for a bike ride," the defiant nurse cheered to assembled reporters as she and Theodore Wilbur wheeled off.

 

 

 

Aboard mountain bikes, the two headed for the Fort Kent Heritage Trail as a state trooper followed along in a cruiser. Though threatened with arrest, a court order has yet to be signed so officers cannot detain Hickox, who is supposed to remain in her home through Nov. 10.

 

Her morning flight came after a Wednesday evening appearance, where the 33-year-old walked outside her home, boyfriend at her side, and she greeted reporters as she again made her case that she’s symptom-free and undeserving of a 21-day quarantine.

 

She shook the hand of one reporter to show just how confident she was, as police watched from across the street in the town of Fort Kent along the Canadian border.

I guarantee if one of this chicks loved ones got sick because someone else wasn't quarantined, she'd be singing a different tune.

Hit her with a tranq dart and lock her up. No harm, no foul.

A nurse that actually had Ebola and symptoms flew to Cleveland and went shopping. No one else got Ebola, but a lady with no symptoms is supposed to be a prisoner?
