October 30, 201411 yr I think a lot of it is the "I am a doctor and know more than you" mentality. And maybe she does, but our political leaders are reacting the best way they know on short notice. She had an elevated temperature and steps were put in place to protect people, as extreme as it may be. I do not want to hear how she is being treated inhumane. I do not think this is the situation to take a political stand.

If some of you went over to the Ebola nucleus and provided humanitarian aid, which included direct contact with Ebola patients in whatever manner, would you simply hop off the plane and head home with a smooch for the wife and kiddies if you thought for one second you'd put them in harm's way? Or would you agree to a quarantine of 3 weeks to insure their safety? No politics, just doing what's smart for your fam. Or would you throw a hissy-fit, call your congressman, contact MSNBC and cry about it on your facebook page?

If I exhibited no symptoms and didn't test positive for the disease and the government forced me to live in a tent to make a big show about how they are "doing something" to a lathered up public you could make a safe bet I'd tell them to kiss off.

The NYC doc didn't have symptoms until after he arrived home.
