NKY Middle School Boys Basketball 2014/15

Not sure which 7th graders you think have to play U14, but I know that at least 9 of them are still eligible to play U13. I am not familiar with the 7th grade Turkey foot player. Who does he play aau for?

I know the Rabe kid is to old on the Bulls 6 grade. I'm new to this local but I saw the Turkey Foot kid on the EYBL circuit. And some bigger Nike and Adidas tourneys. Those teams don't wear named uniforms they are usually just numbered. I wish all of them the best but playing just in NKY or greater Cincinnati isn't a way to see true talent. I just like reading so I kinda know who to look for when I go to games. Look out for 31 on Woodland 6 th grade he is a sleeper between the Profit and Niece kids as far as the 7th graders il bet the Mayer and the Disken kids can't make u13, I think makers birthdate is march? Which makes him u14 and almost sure the Hicks won't make it. Either way they are great players I'm not hear to knock anyone.

Let's just clarify the AAU age rule. The cutoff date is Aug 31st. So, to play U13 AAU, you cannot turn 14 before Aug 31, 2015. I don't have birth certificates, but I am pretty confident Mayer and Diskin are fine. Both played in a 12yr old baseball tournament in Cooperstown last Summer, and now AAU basketball is matching the baseball age cutoffs.

I think this may have been discussed previously on this thread, but do officials at the middle school level not have to be sanctioned by the KHSAA? I was at a tournament in N. Ky. today and the officials did not have KHSAA patches on their shirts, so I'm just assuming they really could just put anyone out there. And they may have done just that. Lol. Please tell me I'm wrong.

Most of the officials are KHSAA sanctioned. I had an official tell me that they weren't supposed to wear their KHSAA logo gear for middle school games.

I see some officials from the AAU circuit calling middle school games (as well as high school) and most of them are pretty good. It's the ones calling middle school games that I haven't seen anywhere else that raise eyebrows with their ability. Might be helpful to start in the third and fourth grade leagues first and work their way up.

You are talking about 8th grade St Joes, right? I know in 7th grade, Highlands beat Summit View for the championship.
