HHS also played Cov Cath, who was a quality opponent when they played them...injuries have crippled them since that game (if and when they get healthy again, they may be a tough out in the playoffs). HHS finishes with Elder and Warren Central, one very good opponent and another quality one.

Wait! What? So there is a chance HHS has to travel to Johnsonville? That would be awesome. I love those trips and so do my Birds!

They are a great football team...but maybe not as strong as the the last 7-8 years. But I wouldn't say that aren't very good and getting better every time they step on the field. Everyone outside of Ft Thomas hears HHS fans talking about being "down" and they probably are in HHS standards to your point. BUT, for others outside of the Ft Thomas, don't mistake "down" for being "not good". Still very good team. I would say not as deep is really the only difference.

The Campbell Co. game.

They lost to a top flight FL team who had to travel 800 miles to play the game.

They barely beat a good, but not great, Bryan Station team.

A 36-0 win over a 2-6 Holmes team

 

Is that a bit of nit-picking? Yes. But I stand by my statement. Highlands is still one of the top two in 4A and a very good team, but the are in no way the overwhelming Highlands of a few years ago. Hence, I don't feel that they've been overwhelming.
