Exactly the reason Dixie still has issues.

If Dixie has issues SK has much much bigger ones!!

Random thoughts from the 1st half:

 

Drew Moore is an athlete. This just in.

Winkler needs more touches.

Deaton looks more like a DE than a LB.

SK didn't have much of a passing game. Throw it out wide. Throw the deep ball. That's it.

Powell is really good.

 

I agree with all that. Especially the limited passing attack by SK. I noticed that a lot in the two games I saw. In fact, I was thinking to stop a ton of their offense, I would put an athlete right up on Winkler with a safety over top. I would take that flats pass away completely and make them do something else. But I agree, Winkler is good.

Showing up fashionably late for the thread. I've been busy with the Colonel Family celebrating our win. Congratulations to the Dixie Heights Colonels on a very good victory. These young men continue to improve weekly, execute, and win...

Moore should have had 2 passing TDs tonight and completed 4 of 7 passes... but 2 WR drops hurt the passing stats. Drew throws the ball plenty good enough.

 

But, like many others have already said, why throw it when the other team is stepping to the side and yelling "olè" as Dixie gouges them for big chunks of yardage?

 

Dixie has POUNDED teams since the CCH loss (which I still think was a fluke)... while SK has struggled mightily to get by teams.

 

Would love, love, love to see Dixie and Highlands play.

 

Dixie needs to put their head down and keep chopping wood. Ryle game cannot be overlooked.

Zajac had 251 all-purpose yards.

Seemed like Moore had 200 plus.

I'd also like to compliment the Dixie student section for coming out and supporting the team. I'm not sure I've ever seen them out in force like that and as fired up as they were. It really created a great atmosphere for a high school game.

 

Also, how cool was it that Brandon Phillips showed up and watched the game showing support for Dixie!

But nothing! I stated my opinion that I would love to see them play.

First game I've caught of Dixie this year. I was very impressed with Zajac. The kid was tough to bring down.
