I thought the Holmes girls had a new kid from Norwood named Tubbs?

 

She is still there.

 

Robert wasn't going to have enough credits to graduate this year so he had to go back to Norwood where he is considered a junior instead of senior. Not sure if they are related or not.

How big of a loss is that for Holmes?

 

Solid player but wasn't going to crack the starting 5 so not that big of a loss. Was basically adding guard depth but they are loaded with guard depth with or without him.

If I'm not mistaken each of the top 3 teams is scheduled to play Trinity (who will probably be pre-season #1). Should be some interesting games.

If someone was is coming into the area, who could be added to this players to watch list? I started it, who can help me with some additional names?

Agreed. While they have some "if's" they can be really good if those "if's" turn to "definites."

 

If Hathorn can score more...

If McNeil can handle being the main offensive weapon....

If McNeil has gotten a little quicker....

If someone can become the outside threat that ZMcNeil was....

If the young PG performs well...

If the other big whose name escapes me can produce...

If Liechty(sp?) can score more....

 

They are going to be very interesting to watch.

 

I like what Cooper returns this year with Hendrix, McNeil, Hathorn, and Liechty.

 

Depth is always a question mark but they had a solid jv team last year which should give Sully some options.

St Henry has a solid 3 players that work very well together---Kunstek, Goetz and Wallenhorst. Then you add in the very athletic soccer stud Alex Green to the mix, for some extra power. St Henry may have lost 7 seniors last year, but that opens the door for some others that did not get much time last year and are anxious for their turn. Coach Faust will have the Cru ready to go.

Has a pretty solid mid range game to compliment his strength inside as well.

Faust needs to ride that horse this year. Give him the green light a little more to put it up.

This is one of those BGP Truisms (Faust is most underrated, Faust is one of the best coaches, Faust gets the most out of what he has), but honestly, I think he has fallen victim to what Bill Simmons as the David West principle. You are underrated for a long time, then EVERYONE starts talking about you being underrated, and the net result is you actually become overrated.

 

The Faust 'narrative' is how I know fall has arrived on BGP. That and pumpkin spice lattes for the girls lets me know that hoops' season is near.

Kinda surprised I haven't seen Markel McClendon listed in any top 10's.

Bolin at Dixie will be one of the bigger surprises this year.
