I would agree with mostly everybody Beetle is 1 and McDonald 2. IMO CVH and Pangallo are neck and neck and both of their teams will go as they go this year. Weyer will surprise some people this winter. I've watched and played with him and he's improved big time. If playoff Bo Schuh shows up the whole season, then look out. But as of now he needs to be more consistent - I trust he will be come mid January. Snapp is a very good high school player and has a big load to carry but I assume will do well.

I put the space because I think there is a gap after that top 7. I think Stanley is the next best but isn't capable of leading Boone to generate any buzz next year.

1-3 should be obvious... Dixie doesn't have any superstars but their team has some experience now and hopefully will have more opportunities with BH gone. They may have it in them to play close with the top 3. Cooper is similar in the no superstars aspect, but it would shock me to see them compete with all of the first 3.

If the rules are the same as last year, practice starts tomorrow(?). Anyhow, good luck to the 9th region and rest of Kentucky Basketball. Looking forward to being able to watch a few games this year and bring that trophy back to NKY!

The list is how it should be for pre-season but beware of the Dark Horse in Cooper. If they are healthy they have every piece to surprise some people.

St Henry lost a lot. Surprised they are in top 10. At first glance, it appears there may be one too many Cov Cath and New Cath players on list. Teams may be good but I think you overlooking the best players on other teams.

Newport returns 4 starters - move them up to #7 and everyone else below drops a spot.

What does Ryle have returning to put them at the 7/8 spot? Thought they lost their 1-2 punch.

If someone was is coming into the area, who could be added to this players to watch list? I started it, who can help me with some additional names?

NCC: McDonald/Pangallo/Weyer/G Moeves

CCH: Schuh/Vonhandorf

Holmes: Bolden

Dixie: Schreck/Rabe

Newport: Snapp

Cooper: McNeil,Hawthorn

Boone: Stanley

St. H: Goetz,Kunstek

Beechwood: Huff

HC: Bezold

Anyone to mention from Ryle? Just curious.

Agreed. While they have some "if's" they can be really good if those "if's" turn to "definites."

If Hathorn can score more...

If McNeil can handle being the main offensive weapon....

If McNeil has gotten a little quicker....

If someone can become the outside threat that ZMcNeil was....

If the young PG performs well...

If the other big whose name escapes me can produce...

If Liechty(sp?) can score more....

They are going to be very interesting to watch.

As the captain of Team Stanley Fan Club let me say I fully get the variations in the opinions of him. He certainly has to be seen a lot to properly appreciate what he brings to a team. Not many more versatile players in the 9th.

McNeil from Cooper will be on everyone's radar EARLY this season. Kid is a stud and only a sophomore. He has improved a lot over the off season and is getting bigger and stronger. Him and Hathorn as a 1-2 punch will be very nice for Cooper this year.

Agreed. Excited to watch him over the next 3 seasons. Not sure how tall he will get. Great stroke. Like his brother extremely well-rounded player. Foot speed may be an issue defensively for him but you can certainly overcome that just like his brother did with intelligence and anticipation.

From 22 in you'd better guard him.

St Henry has a solid 3 players that work very well together---Kunstek, Goetz and Wallenhorst. Then you add in the very athletic soccer stud Alex Green to the mix, for some extra power. St Henry may have lost 7 seniors last year, but that opens the door for some others that did not get much time last year and are anxious for their turn. Coach Faust will have the Cru ready to go.

St Henry is in the "TBD" stage for me.

Enough weapons if you take out Goetz and help with Kunstek?

I'm with you in thinking Newport is closer to 6/7 than 10.

I know it's summer ball but they had Campbell Co beat over the summer before losing on a buzzer beater.

Was also told today that Robert Tubbs is no longer at Holmes.

I believe he went back to Norwood where he is a junior instead of senior at Holmes.

How big of a loss is that for Holmes?

I thought the Holmes girls had a new kid from Norwood named Tubbs?
