Jim Hicks is the Bellevue coach. He has been there a few years now which is an eternity when you think of the coaching turnover that has occurred their in the last ten yrs. Maybe this is an opportunity for Bellevue to play better competition as they try and improve their program. It's one game people relax.

 

I have no problem with the two teams playing each other. I was just wondering if there was a connection between the two coaching staffs.

Since you have come full circle on this football reference I would add that Highlands football team is also their basketball team this year as I believe Harris/Ball/? are about the only upperclassmen on the squad. Don't expect a lot of talk about this team until they complete time on the gridiron. When they do convene on the gym floor, I think Kevin Listerman will get the most out of his players, may be the new most underrated coach and Highlands might suprise some people this year.:thumb:

We agree on all points. That would be very good year for HHS basketball.

Was their game with CovCath a couple years ago just a regional game? I thought it was the championship. I could be wrong.

It was a semi-final game.

IMO Jaiden has a lot of untapped potential. Watching him play a few times last year and then over this past summer I would think he could do more. He is only a soph so he has plenty of time to grow.

 

Next year I expect we will hear a lot more of his name.

 

I think by the end of the season both Jaiden and Raavai Commodore will be well known around NKY.

 

Raavai might be the best frosh in NKY and dressing/playing varsity basketball last year and this year definitely doesnt hurt his development.

5. I HATE the phrase "...he does more with less..." (also used about him all of the time). HATE IT. It is so insulting to the kids that have played for him I can't see past it. He has had a lot of nice players, and still does, and to infer they have no talent is insulting. I'm certain Dave would agree with me 100% on this topic.

 

Taking liberties an assuming that I, or anyone else, was inferring or insulting St. Henry players as having no talent with the comment, "he does more with less" is a pretty bold statement. Since when did you become The Amazing Kreskin and read our minds?

 

I was DEFINITELY NOT taking a shot at the St. Henry players, it was more like a compliment for their hard work. My use of the comment was inferring that Coach Faust doesn't have a steady influx of "stud" players that can usually carry a team, but instead has a nice group of "blue collar" players that compete and get the job done.

I honestly think Rabe is gonna have a HUGE year for the Colonels. He was playing in the shadow of Hatton these last 2 years, now the ball is in his hands and I think he's gonna do great things with it. By the end of the year I think he is could potentially be a Top 5 player in the region.

I wouldn't argue that. He has improved his outside shot which is going to make him tough to defend with his ability to attack the rim. Also one of the better defenders in the region. Hatton used to get frustrated when Rabe was a sophomore and defending him every day in practice.

 

I could see him averaging 15 ppg.

Why wait? I'm already asking why CCH is playing Bellevue.

Small followings and posters on here also contribute to the lack of exposure for those kids.

 

Ludlow took their lumps last year but the fact that they went out and scheduled bigger schools contributed to Cody and Howard getting more exposure.
