October 20, 201411 yr Get Off Marv , he obviously has had his team ready the past 3 weeks ! In reality he is a turd of a coach that needs to be flushed .
October 20, 201411 yr Fisher looks like he is aging quickly....almost like someone I would see hangin out at a Saloon drinking Milwaukees Best during daylight hours.
October 20, 201411 yr The Bungles have the worst coach in the history of sport, going back to ancient Greece.
October 20, 201411 yr The Bungles have the worst coach in the history of sport, going back to ancient Greece. He is not absolutely horrible like so many people claim. Horrible coaches don't have .500 records especially after 11 or so seasons. He is exactly what his career record is, and that is just an average coach. An average coach though is not a coach who will get this team over the playoff hump and win games when it matters most.

Only in Cincinnati does a .500 record create job security
October 20, 201411 yr Does that make it right? The answer is no. Right and Dirty is two entirely different things. Driving over the speed limit is not right, but it does not make you a criminal!
October 20, 201411 yr Intentionally trying to hurt someone is DIRTY play. How in the world do you not consider it dirty? Just because everyone is doing something dirty doesnt make it clean.
October 20, 201411 yr Intentionally trying to hurt someone is DIRTY play. How in the world do you not consider it dirty? Just because everyone is doing something dirty doesnt make it clean. Which is why over 50% of the league is dirty on every play. Doesn't make it right, it is what it is.
October 20, 201411 yr Hellbird starts a thread regarding Cincy sports and wanting to get rid of someone. Whoda thunk it. :idunno:
October 20, 201411 yr I too am a Marvin fan. My brother and I get into some good debates about him. He wanted him gone 4-5 years ago. Marvin has developed a good team from a bad team, blown up the team when characters outnumbered professionals and built a good one back up again. The players really play for him. You never hear any negativity from players here now or who have gone on. He is awful in most press conferences because it looks like it pains him to do them and he appears to be a reserved type of guy. That doesn't help his public persona. He has built an extremely impactful and important foundation in the area and is truly a positive influence on many lives. I have experienced that personally by seeing and knowing those he has helped in Covington alone. I know that doesn't equate to wins and losses, but it does have a bearing on my admiration of him. Thanks for sharing. Do you think Marvin could achieve the same good for the Bengals as the GM? And would you and your brother like to see him move into management with the Bengals?
October 20, 201411 yr Only in Cincinnati does a .500 record create job security Never once said he should keep his job though. I was wanting them to let him go after the 2008 season and then definitely after the 2010 season. I could understand why they didn't let him go after 2011 and 2012 because it was a brand new group and he took them to the playoffs. However I thought there should have been a change after last year. So I am definitely not one to say he should keep his job. However when people act like he is the worst in the league that is wrong too, he is not a good coach but not horrible. He is exactly what his record says he is and that is just average.

October 20, 201411 yr You say he isn't the worst in the league. Can you name any other coach that has coached for 13 years without a post season win? Your statement doesn't really fly in this case, because no other coach would have made it 13 years with a barely above .500 record and no playoff wins. Majority of coaches would have already been fired. So just because the owner has made the mistake of not getting rid of him, doesn't mean he is the worst in the league. He has now rebuilt this team twice and twice turned them into playoff type teams. The worst coach in the league doesn't do that, the worst coach in the league win 3 or 4 games a year for a few years and then gets fired. The Bengals coaches in the 90's were truly the worst coaches in the league lol. He is exactly what his record is and that is just an average coach, which an average coach is not what this team needs.
