October 6, 201411 yr UK fans need to enjoy the win but take a deep breath. They will still struggle to get to 6 wins and make a bowl. Don't be surprised if they only win one more. I'm not saying they can't win more, just don't be surprised or let down if they don't. This team is making strides but still really isn't over the hump yet. I don't know; with the relative weakness of the SEC East, there certainly is a "right place, right time" feeling for this improving UK team. I don't see a sure-fire loss for them anywhere within that division.
October 6, 201411 yr But "the next week" is this Saturday, against ULMonroe, not LSU. UK may have enough time to focus between now & then. You be correct, my bad. Let's hope they don't lay an egg in that one.

I don't see a sure-fire loss for them anywhere within that division. I'm the biggest Negative Nancy UK football fan you can find, but I am starting to have optimism this year. Some of that has to do with personnel...these guys just don't look like prototypical UK football players. But a larger part of it--and again, I'm speaking of this season--is the landscape of the SEC East & how awful it is. Any UK win beyond the UL Monroe game will be a tough one. 4 of the last 6 are on the road & the 2 home games are against the top team in the East (Georgia) & perhaps the top team in the West (MSU). The team has already exceeded my expectations for the year. I had them winning 4.

October 6, 201411 yr Author I'm the biggest Negative Nancy UK football fan you can find. I gotta think that title belongs to Mr. Schue.
October 6, 201411 yr Brooks has been gone a while :lol2: Oops. Sorry Coach Stoops for confusing your name with a former coach. LOL
October 7, 201411 yr I could have sworn I saw you after the game on TV. I rewound the thing twice. My wife says "who is Q?" :lol2: Were you there in person Q? Nah man, I was safe at a buddy's house watching.
October 7, 201411 yr While some are longer shots than others, there is not a game left on their schedule that they can't win. LSU is very bad. Like, may not win another game bad.
October 7, 201411 yr I think the Georgia game looks to be by far the hardest game left...Georgia can run the ball...UK doesn't seem to be able to stop the run. LSU at night will be tough to go there and get a win, I'll be honest and say that I'll be shocked if K were to win that one. Missouri is possible, after all they got beat by IU at home. Tennessee, while they don't look great I think that will be a tough game and could go either way. I think UK gets a break in that it's not at the end of the season...FWIW Miss St., well if they play like they did this weekend, they will be very tough to beat. If UK wins at LSU this will be a late featured game and maybe a full house can give the Cats that extra little bit again! I think they go 2-3 to end up at 4-4 in Conf also...but 3-2 and 5-3 is possible.

October 7, 201411 yr But "the next week" is this Saturday, against ULMonroe, not LSU. UK may have enough time to focus between now & then. and you never know -- The Duck Dynasty is from Monroe, LA and should Phil, Jase, Willie and uncle Si show up and play....we're in trouble. :scared:
October 7, 201411 yr I'm very excited about the progress that Stoops has made in such a short period. He is getting much better talent at the skilled positions, and depth that we are not use to seeing at Kentucky. I haven't been this optimistic about the future of Kentucky football in a long time. If the fans want Kentucky to be seen as a top program though, they need to quit rushing the field after wins against teams that aren't even in the Top 25, and were only 4 point underdogs to according to Vegas.
October 7, 201411 yr If Spurrier coached at Union College and UK beat them, the fans would rush the field.
October 7, 201411 yr If Spurrier coached at Union College and UK beat them, the fans would rush the field. You're probably right, but don't expect to be taken seriously as a football school.
