October 5, 201411 yr Author While watching the highlights from the game I noticed that Zach West played a lot, and played well. Many of the good runs by Kemp & Heard went right behind West. There was a lot of very good blocking by UK's line this game.
October 5, 201411 yr TxTech fans thought the TD pass play looked familiar. From 2012. @jenheraldleader Here is a gif of the play from 2012 at Texas Tech. http://t.co/EcsuBStQ88 Sent from Echofon - http://www.echofon.com/
October 5, 201411 yr UK averaged 10 YPC out of the Wildcat. They way UK executed the Wildcat reminds me of something that would happen to UK not the other way around.
October 5, 201411 yr Our receivers did a good job of catching last night, especially Timmons. With his recent drops, you had to feel like the flea-flicker ball was going in slow motion, I almost had to close my eyes.
October 5, 201411 yr Author With his recent drops, you had to feel like the flea-flicker ball was going in slow motion, I almost had to close my eyes. Yeah, I was afraid that the pass was almost too easy to catch.
October 5, 201411 yr And I have not moved from my position that UK would have been better served by avoiding the creampuffs early. A better test early on and they beat Florida, who is not very good. And, they probably beat SC handily rather than struggling like they did and needing the big comeback. I tried to avoid this, folks, but JD kept asking. Blame him. KY used to always play respectable to very good UofL teams at the beginning of the season and those didn't seem to help much at all. I am a UK fan willing to admit that SEC losses were not due to playing pansies early on, the were because those UK teams were just very bad teams.
October 5, 201411 yr So it'd take winning AT LSU to impress you? Good stuff, Jim. Good, bad or indifferent, winning on the road says a lot more about a team than holding serve at home against mediocre teams.
October 5, 201411 yr Good, bad or indifferent, winning on the road says a lot more about a team than holding serve at home against mediocre teams. It's a no win situation with you as far as any respect for UK. First it was that the "creampuff" ooc schedule would hurt UK when conference play started. They are now 2-1 in conference play, could easily be 3-0, so now your opinion has changed again. Now its that they are winning because their wins came at home, you say road win would be more impressive. Yet they played Florida to multiple overtimes on the road, a game that very well could have been a win. So now you mentioned that a win over LSU would be impressive. I agree, because its tough to win there, for ANYONE. But since they were ranked 15th and Auburn exposed them, I expect that if in fact that did happen you would claim that its UK's best win, but LSU is not as good as advertised. Truth be told, you could probably take the top 10 sec teams and I imagine they could all beat anyone on a given night.
October 5, 201411 yr I just can't see him leaving after 2 years. Maybe I'm wrong but I feel like he has some loyalty to the first school to give him a shot and they're giving him anything he wants to win. If he leaves that quick after all the "why not" stuff, he'd be labeled a phony for a while. The cupboard is full at UK, no reason to leave at this time. I think it helps having Coach Cal there. He really seems to support all of the other sports at UK.
October 5, 201411 yr I only did 30 minutes. Rookie mistake. :lol2: In your defense that game was long as hell. The first half was freaking 2 hours long.
October 5, 201411 yr Not sure I understand why they kept running PT in motion. After a while it was obvious what they were running. The toss pass for TD though by PT was sweet. Great call. Go Cats! If I had to guess it may have been so he didn't take any unnecessary shots or try to throw a block when he didn't need to. Like you said SC knee what was coming and couldn't stop it but it brought a man out of the box and made SC stay somewhat honest.
October 5, 201411 yr Love Steve Spurrier, did anyone see the SEC Storied hosted by Kenny Chesney about him? I think he retires after this season or goes back to Florida to finish his career Is that documentary available on demand any where. Would be interested in at least giving it a glance.
October 5, 201411 yr SC was at home in that game, coming off a horribly embarrassing loss to A&M, while Georgia was coming in off a blowout win over Clemson. A good win for SC, but one I completely expected them to win. And I'm not totally sold on Georgia — there are five and possibly six teams in the SEC better than them. #15 Texas A&M and #23 Missouri are the 2 teams South Carolina has lost to other than UK. Not sure why you want to call this team mediocre.
