Is Dave Wirth in trouble at CovCath?

Featured Replies

Again- you have no insight into the program, so I'm not going to waste my time with you. The thread was about whether Wirth was in trouble. He is not. It's pot stirring from others that keeps the thread going I guess.

Ok lol. Whatever you say hahaha.

Great man. I'm convinced Coach Turner at HHS is the best Oline coach around but people don't come any better than Bob.

He's also hilarious to listen to when he's coaching especially in the heat of a game lol.

i can't knock what Coach Turner has done, but I'd take Burnett for what he can do to turn a line around. He's had year after year one of the smallest lines I. The area and has performed miracles with them. The majority of games for years Cooper has played their lines were always smaller than their opponents but more times than not outplay their opponents in the trenches which was a huge reason they had the success they had in 2011-2014. This yr could be the 3rd district title Cooper could win since 2011 and a ton of credit goes to what he's done with the line. Always one of the smallest but he gets the most put of them. Just a fun coach to watch his work from a far.

Here is a quote from Coach Rash from the Enquirer that applies to this discussion:

"The minute you don't win a game, everyone jumps on the bandwagon with social media," Rash said. "People are going to say bad things (about CovCath) now, and it's an absolute crime that it happens. Everybody wanted us down when we lost to Dixie…They're high school kids. They're awesome. I have a great team. They played great today. They didn't play great four or five weeks ago, but we knew what we had. Everybody out there thinks that the minute you lose the game you're no good anymore. We know what we have – we're not surprised by it, but we're certainly pleased."

Beechwood upsets CovCath on the road

Insert whatever other school name in place of cch when a fans bases unrealistic, dis-connected expectations aren't met. Tip of the cap to Beechwood who got it done. As for the cch alarmists out there...relax! You can start finding materials for your torches and forks if they lose two more regular season games.

What is Wagners status? A lot of teams would have struggled tremendously and probably lost without their starting QB and leader. Again insert just about any QB in NKY if that happens.

Pot stirrer award for the week goes to Guru... :jump:

I figured Bob would be retired by now, haven't seen him in many years.

Was wondering about Adam Wagner's condition myself. Can anyone confirm that he is dong okay?

Sometimes after homecoming it can be an issue.

oops! the "i" on my keyboard is messing up!

In regards to the Walter boy do not assume he came to CCH for football. If anything he came for basketball.

Since Walters' son was brought up in this thread, how's the younger Pike son doing at CovCath(froshman football)?

That is exactly what I had heard also.

Cavaliers announce a $300,000 grant to CCH for a new floor for the basketball gym......

.....just kidding.

Or how about this ...

Cov Cath loses by 20 to Mike Listerman's Holmes Bulldogs to drop their record to 10-10. Colonel fans call for Scott Ruthsatz's head one year after winning a state title.

How about the Triple Crown Power Rangers joins the Park Hills Mafia to form the a NKY power alliance who has the power to hire and fire all coaches at any school in NKY. Their say is final since they know best.

He's 100% correct, but at the same time, some of the criticism coaches get from different programs is deserved too.

Rash remember has gotten all kinds of heat in the past too, and when they start losing it will come again. It's the nature of the beast. With that said I can't say I don't enjoy some who start bashing their teams coach because they are so convinced its the coaches fault their beloved team lost instead of ever admitting that maybe the other teams they lost to are actually better.

Agreed. Criticism can be expected, yes. However, all this job-on-the-line, torches-and-pitchforks, calling for high school coaches' heads over a couple of losses is immature and uncalled for. I love scanning these posts, mostly for for the humor factor, but also for other reasons (to keep up with the rest of the state games, etc.). They should be taken with less than a grain of salt. However, there are people I can think of who might actually read these posts and take them to heart -- and those are the kids... persons who might not know at this age how serious it is to call for the firing of a husband and father, because YOU perceived he made a mistake at work. To that extent, you are fueling this perceived "dissent" there may or may not be in the locker room. Pathetic.
