Petrino just doesn't have the guns. To say I'm disappointed in Gardner would be an understatement. To say nothing of the offensive line. He'll get them together eventually, but we're in a world of hurt with no deep throw threat and a QB that throws flat. How many passes got batted down today?

Saw on Twitter that there was 9 batted down passes.

Just few thoughts

-Petrino should be ashamed to have poor special teams play 3 games in a role. So changes need to be made ASAP! Petrino is to blame for this poor play!

- Oline isn't very good. We knew this since the spring.

- Gardner main issue is poor protection - but he isn't the future at QB- but will be fine to get them through this year.

- defense played lights out again - offense poor play out defense in bad spots an the bailed the offense out.

- we are not in CUSA anymore!

Sounds like the Cards should have scheduled someone other than Murray State to get them ready for conference play. Right, Jim Schue?

I was expecting a lot more from a Petrino offense. I incorrecty thought the team would bind together on the road and come out with a good effort. Not having done so, I question if UL has sufficient leadership. UL made a very nice comeback but then backslid. It's a little too early to render final judgment though

You're expecting too much, too early. His offense will be fine. Has been everywhere he's been for multiple years. Huge philosophy shift.

Louisville will have to recruit a different kind of guy in the trenches on offense and likely on defense going forward.

Early returns on defense look good, but they'll have to get bigger to consistently challenge FSU and Clemson.

Things are fixable but for Louisville fans to think this would be a seemless transition was ludicrous. 9-3 would be an excellent year. 8-4 a likely year. 7-5 should be acceptable

Replacing a coach and the best QB in school history is not easy. Moving to a real conference is not easy. Missing the best offensive player on the team is not easy.

Petrino is an excellent coach. Not the best in the country like a Saban or a Meyer but certainly in the top 10 or so, especially X and O wise. However Strong was likely a better for the ACC as I think he is a superior recruiter and defense travels and shows up consistently.

Would've helped. I was concerned Gardner might be shaky in a road game, and I was right.

How can I say this without coming off as looking like I'm trying to troll or trash Louisville, but I'm being perfectly honest as I type this. Louisville found out today what it's going to be like on the road in a real conference.

And there are many who would argue that the ACC falls a bit short in that regard.

So the B10 sucks, ACC no good, PAC 12 is only Oregon.. Is it just the SEC and Big 12?

A team from the ACC won the title last year. More than can be said for any other conference, excluding the SEC, in the past 6 or 7 years....

For Virginia this was a big win, for the Cards I think it was a bad loss.

No doubt.

Which Louisville fans said they expected a seamless transition, or predicted 9-3 or better for a record?

It will hurt too that Louisville got dealt a bad hand on this year's schedule. They have some tough games on the road, like at Clemson and at Notre Dame still to come. They at least have FSU at home, but then again, they have to play FSU.

And hopefully FSU is FSU by then.

I think I like Bonnafon at QB better than Gardner even though Gardner was the QB when UL came back. Something about Gardner I don't like. Not sure what it is yet. Either way whoever is at QB for UL I hope they figure it our and flourish.
