September 13, 201412 yr Twitter and social media are filled with the "what? I used to get whipped by a switch all of the time" comments. I assume those same people have their toddlers stand in the front seat of the car while not being restrained. What point are you trying to make here I don't follow you.
September 13, 201412 yr What point are you trying to make here I don't follow you. Just like we no longer allow our toddlers to stand up in the front seat of the car like many of us did as toddlers back in the day we no longer find it acceptable to beat a child with a belt or a switch.

Gotcha, sorry little slow this morning, had to deal with some family issues, been a little crazy. Personally, I don't have issue with using a belt or switch or paddle to discipline a child, however there is a line between discipline and "beat" as you put it.
September 13, 201412 yr a couple questions - How many kids does he have ? some of the reports make it sound like this child was a " visitor" but does say it was his biological son . The reports read like he doesnt really have a relationship to the kid . Like he beat a child visiting his own son . Does sound like he crossed the line of a whoopin' to a beat down.
September 13, 201412 yr UPDATED: EXCLUSIVE Details On Adrian Peterson Indictment Charges « CBS Houston
September 14, 201412 yr Peterson said he disciplined him the way he was disciplined as a child in East Texas. Obviously he was abused as a kid. The cycle of abuse continues. I saw that. I just don't think the "that's the way we did things in East Texas a generation ago" defense is gonna fly. Professional football player drawing blood from a 4 year-old shouldn't be acceptable in any circumstance.
September 15, 201412 yr I have chased each and/or all at once my three sons around the house with a wooden spoon. They fear it more than zombie vampires with spiders coming out of its nose. If I ever actually made contact and left a mark like those, I'd turn myself in BEFORE I got indicted, before a text was sent, before a photo was taken. The kid is 4 - FOUR!! No way that's OK.

September 15, 201412 yr Vikings' statement on decision to reinstate RB Adrian Peterson: Statement From The Vikings Regarding Adrian Peterson Edit... New thread started about it already
September 15, 201412 yr Just like we no longer allow our toddlers to stand up in the front seat of the car like many of us did as toddlers back in the day we no longer find it acceptable to beat a child with a belt or a switch. I rode in the back window :lol2:
September 15, 201412 yr Now word of another child of AP being injured during a disciplinary action. Cut his eye. New accusations: Peterson injured another son while disciplining 4-year-old
September 16, 201412 yr Now word of another child of AP being injured during a disciplinary action. Cut his eye. New accusations: Peterson injured another son while disciplining 4-year-old Saw reports that this happened over a year ago and was investigated. Apparently had witness that said he did nothing out of line.
September 17, 201412 yr I don't believe in child abuse, but I do believe this is being blown a little bit out of proportion. If the Ray Rice incident hadn't have happened, this wouldn't be as blown up by the media who are just loving putting out all of this "Everyone in the NFL is a thug wifebeating child abuser" stories that are forcing the NFL to have to make suspensions or they would lose sponsorship dollars. Should AP be punished? Eh I would want to know the full details on the story. Could easily see his BabyMomma influencing this to get some $.
