Adrian Peterson -- Indicted for Child Abuse | TMZ.com

Minnesota Vikings superstar Adrian Peterson has reportedly been indicted for child abuse in North Montgomery County, TX.

Peterson missed Vikings team practice yesterday -- though the team explained it as a "veteran's day."

Earlier today, Peterson posted a message on Twitter -- though it's unclear if it's related to the case.

"People understand that if you are on God's course and suppose to have that position and man decides to remove you know that God will remove everyone to place you rightfully! You matter!"

"Its your season! Weapons may form but won’t prosper! God has you covered don’t stress or worry!"

Just saw on Twitter that he is being indicted for disciplining his son with a switch. I used to have to go pick my switch off the tree when I got in trouble but my mom wasn't an All Pro running back either. He must have done some serious damage to receive an indictment.

Didn't one of his kids get abused before?

His son was murdered.

His son was murdered.

And reports are that he recovered quickly from that incident.

Me too. And it was always the one you could reach at the end of a branch which meant it was greener and more flexible, thereby creating good whipping action and hurt like hell!!!

Had folks seen me disciplined, or my kids by me at times, I'm sure the men in my family including me would also have been indicted in this day and time.

Does it say who reported it and I just missed it?

An 11 year old kid from Minnesota went to visit AP in May. When the kid returned home to his mother she noticed injuries on his body and took him to the doctor. AP was reported shortly after that.

Adrian Peterson -- Indicted for Child Abuse ... Doc Reported Injuries | TMZ.com

Sources connected to Peterson tell us ... the alleged victim is a male child from Minnesota who was visiting Adrian back in May at AP's home in Texas.

We're told the child returned home to his mother in Minn. who noticed injuries and took the child to a doctor. A short time later, the doctor contacted authorities in Texas to report Adrian.

Maybe it's just me, but I have a hard time believing that. Maybe I'm wrong, but I hope not.

This is a form of domestic violence, will AP get at least 6 games? The year? Forever?

Life in prison I hope! Ok couple years.

Adrian Peterson Indicted For Child Abuse « CBS Minnesota

When the 4-year-old boy returned to Minnesota, his mother took him to a doctor. The police report said the boy told the doctor Peterson had hit him with a branch from a tree.

The doctor told investigators that the boy had a number of lacerations on his thighs, along with bruise-like marks on his lower back and buttocks and cuts on his hand.

The police report says the doctor described some of the marks as open wounds and termed it “child abuse.” Another examiner agreed, calling the cuts “extensive.

So the kid is 4 and there are a couple pictures inside of the bruises/cuts.
