September 5, 201412 yr .... Yesterday morning a man that I knew lost his life unexpectedly. Here is a touching article about him, if you're interested (Bahl & Gaynor's McCormick dies suddenly - Cincinnati Business Courier); he was 44. Aside from the fact that we were the exact same age, and aside from the fact that I liked him and always enjoyed those chances to run into him at First Watch, a Xavier game, or wherever else we'd cross paths, it has really hit me hard at just how fragile life is. Enjoy it every day, hug your kids, and remind those whom you care about how important they are to you. I sent a text to a friend yesterday I hadn't talked to in a while that said only "Love you, Bro". He is a wonderful guy, more important to me than he knows, and I hadn't thanked him in a while for being a great friend. We all have no idea what tomorrow has in store for us...so enjoy today. Leave no kind word unspoken. Think of Matt's kids and wife today if you have a moment, their sadness is significant, and those young people won't have the joy of growing up with Matt as a dad. I don't mean to bring down anyone, to the contrary, be reminded that life, and those in it with you, is a gift -- cherish it.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Praying for his family and friends.

I have a few close buddies and many of our conversations end with a "love ya buddy/man" and if in person a lot of times a "guy hug". Too many guys get weird about saying and doing those things but I think its important. Many of those guys are just like family to me and I'm not sure what I'd do if they were taken early.

I will pray for Matt's kids and the developing team of surrogate family as they grow. Blessings of healing, peace, and team building for them and you.
September 5, 201412 yr I read that yesterday on FB. We must have mutual friends that knew him. Sounds like he was a great guy and will be sorely missed. Prayers to his family and friends.

Great Post MJ I do the same thing.
September 5, 201412 yr I can relate. I just lost a buddy here at work. Early one work morning, he took a run out of our fitness center across one of the bridges, had a massive heart attack, and passed. Younger than me by two years. I'm struggling with it. I will pray for all involved in your situation, MTGL.
September 5, 201412 yr Wow, that is hard to read because I think we all can relate to losing people in our own lives. And let's face it, we all take life for granted and by extension, we take those people around us for granted. We definitely should make the most of every day and never miss an opportunity to show some love. We have no guarantee of tomorrow and yet we waste so many of our "today"s. Thanks for sharing this MTGL, and for the personal thoughts you shared. Good food for thought. :thumb:

September 5, 201412 yr Very heartbreaking to hear of his passing. Will keep that family in prayer. Thanks, though, for the reminder MTGL.
