Hazard 83 Wolfe County 60

Wolfe County was lead in scoring by 14th Region player of the year Cody Gilbert with 34.

 

Hazard was lead in scoring by Hicks and Osteen (sp?) with 24 and 23 respectively.

 

The huge lead that Hazard opened up was just too much for Wolfe County to overcome. Wolfe County had turnover problems all night and the cold shooting start doomed them.

The Hazard student section was chanting "We want JB, We want JB" for the better part of the final few minutes. They were refering to June Buchanan.

Good win for Hazard, hopefully June B. will start the game a little better than Wolfe. Hicks really came out and led his team the enitre game with his JJ like shooting and his quick ballhandling. He plays hard and plays defense and with the down low players. Hazard was too athletic for Wolfe on the boards. Matt Williams is a big time roll player by grabbing boards and put backs.

Gilbert played hard and had good career and hopefully have a better college career. Stamper really played hard the enitre game and really seemed like he wanted the win but just never could find the bottom of the bucket.

Good win for Hazard and I'm sure June B. will be ready come Friday.
