I too am very interested in seeing how this goes. Certainly seemed like Beau was reined in during the 2 scrimmages. Like Sweep said, appears the Birds are coming into this matchup pretty healthy after the two scrimmages.

RIP to Mr. Rose and all but this is one Cake Eater who will be happy not to have to hear that stupid announcement ever again. To the new announcer, congratulations and please do not continue this "tradition".

 

I'm sorry but if you did not known him personally you should keep your thoughts to yourself. He was a great coach, friend and announcer. I guarantee he showed more enthusiasm than any other announcer around and he loved these boys and the game. You can't replace someone like Greg.

I'm not attacking Mr. Rose personally. I know he was a good man and I'm very sorry for the CCHS community's loss. I just didn't care for his style of announcing. As far as keeping my thoughts to myself, that isn't going to happen.

I think this game will reveal several things for both squads. CC has improved under Lickert and it will show with his D playing strong but still overmatched in the end. Hoge's ability to run the ball will allow other parts of their running game to get on track, coupled with the long strike to Venneman will create to much field to cover. Another aspect of the game to watch is special teams. Kicking deep/not getting deep will result in HHS getting nice returns.....again Venneman (and Kendall) will be factors here. Keys for CC will be line play and the QB keeping options to run/pass. (they will miss him at LB when Hoge is running). In the end Birds score on special teams and too many weapons on O will bring 35-14 final

The Camels shock and awe the birdies with a 21-14 win. Ground and pound, ground and pound, and some more ground and pound...

 

Long sustained drives and good clock management will be the CC key . The Birds will need to turn the ball over a couple times as well. Sorry to shock and awe you with Camel win talk. I know this could be a drubbing. I also believe in the occasional shocker. Whoever attends, enjoy watching the CC LBs. This is a very solid group and could very well be the best in NKY...the keys to a highlands win will be attacking the deep thirds. Venneman may end up with a 150+ yards receiving if the Camels DBs slack.

 

I might have to get a "hallpass" to this one and attend! In the meantime, Go Camels, thoughts and prayers to the Greg Rose family and friends...:thumb:
