I think the Camels keep it close early, but Highlands pulls away late in the third. 34-17

I thought the Camels lost a lot from last year but yet this game is still going to be close? Sounds like Highlands is not as good as they used to be?

CC did lose a lot from last year, but they have a lot of young talent. Very good athletes.The biggest question mark was who would fill the QB spot. Defense will be solid again though. As far as Highlands not being as good as they used to be? I guess we will have to wait and see. I don't read to much into scrimmages. I never count out any Highlands team. With or without Mueller.

You know CCH stands for CovCath and CC stands for Campbell Co. right? :thumb:

Well it will be a different halftime as CCHS will be honoring Greg Rose's life as he passed away in April. Oh how I wish we could hear his joke one more time. RIP Greg.

That announcer that you speak of passed away back in the spring.

 

A friend of mine from my softball days, Greg Rose loved his Camels and will be missed by all.

 

This will be a very emotional game for the CCHS as I understand that they will dedicate this game to Greg.

 

Fans going to this titanic struggle had better get there early as I have a feeling this will be CCHS largest crowd ever to date in their new stadium.

 

Add in the fact that the Cake Eaters are coming to town and it should make for one heck of a hoedown in Alexandria. :thumb:

I can't imagine a situation where the camels score more than 14. They have definitely improved with Lickert at the helm, but this one shouldn't be close. Highlands has too many weapons on offense. I'm thinking HHS 35, CCHS 7.

Agreed Carrier, I was talking with a big CCH supporter last nite and he said the Birds will have their hands full...

 

Apparently they are using this game as their memorial game to their long time announcer who recently passed away.

 

I also believe it is that time of yr in Alexandria as "the big Affair" is going on over the weekend which brings em out of the woodwork.

 

Lots of excitement and a potential for a huge crowd to witness a possible upset in the making...:thumb:

 

 

The big question is and will remain, will CCH be missing any players this yr due to them showing their livestock at The Fair? I know this happened a few yrs back, just curious if Coach Lickert has gotten a handle on this.

RIP to Mr. Rose and all but this is one Cake Eater who will be happy not to have to hear that stupid announcement ever again. To the new announcer, congratulations and please do not continue this "tradition".

Surprisingly the Birds are very healthy even after playing the two heavyweights in Trinity and Cincy St X over the last two weeks.

 

I really thought those back to back games would have really taken a toll on Highlands but I guess the two platoon system is in place for a reason and is paying dividends.

 

Birds should be loaded and ready to go Friday:thumb:

There will be a lot of emotion in the game and I think that will help carry the Camels early, but Highlands has just too much speed and talent and will pull away in the second half. Final score will probably be 42 to 14 HHS. The gap is closing though between these two schools. I will give coach Lickert credit for getting the program headed in the right direction and hope it continues to build.
