Loved his movies and his standup. He was great at what he did.

RIP. Loved his standup best, closely followed by "Good Morning Vietnam".

Jeez, just a topper to a crap afternoon. Hate this news.

I wish he had a little bit more of Patch Adams' outlook on life in him today :(

I'll probably remember him best for playing Peter Pan - one of my all-time favorite characters from fiction. "Hook" came out in 1991, when I was 10 years old. Peter Pan was the ultimate idea of a 'boy' in my mind. Williams did an amazing job of playing one as an adult.

Prayers to his family.

There are so many movies I enjoyed.

Dead Poets Society

Good Will Hunting

Patch Adams

Awakenings

The Fisher King

Mrs Doubtfire

Are all movies I could watch over and over.

My other favorite movie of his was What Dreams May Come, he did not get enough credit for that movie, as well as the movie didn't get enough credit.

I am very, very sad to learn of this.

Very sad indeed. Such a great actor and comedian. Good Will Hunting is one of my favorite movies of all time.

Another sad lose due to mental health issues. As much laughter that he had and gave it's hard to see he was so depressed, which is a problem that people hide far too much. Although he was trying to get help.

Hard to imagine a guy who always seemed so hyped-up and that funny, being depressed. RIP Robin.

Heartbreaking.

When I lived in Hermosa Beach, CA we used to go to the Comedy and Magic Club all the time. One night after the headline act the emcee came out and told the crowd if they wanted to stick around a comedian stopped in and wanted to work on his new act. Robin Williams walked up from the back of the club and went over an hour just working through some new stuff. An amazing night I'll never forget.

RIP to one of the best entertainers in history...

Hard to imagine a guy who always seemed so hyped-up and that funny, being depressed. RIP Robin.

After seeing Good Will Hunting, I felt like I could DEFINITELY imagine that side of him. I felt like the inner-struggle of his character was drawn from an EXTREMELY personal place with Williams.
