August 12, 201412 yr Never liked his comedy style, didn't find him all that funny, but had some solid movies. Sad situation for sure. For some strange reason many stars like him have the world by the tail...and unfortunately seem to be the only ones who don't know it. Depression is a very very strange and sad illness, and I will be the first to say I just don't understand it. But, I think a LOT of people don't understand it, and I feel for those who truly have it and struggle with it daily.

August 12, 201412 yr Jumangi and ironically Man of the Year. Dang man he had life by the horns and so well liked. One of my favorite movies that I watch atleast every other month. Such sad news. It's hard to wrap your head around how someone who brought joy to millions could be so sad but unfortunately depression is a terrible disease. If you feel down, please talk to someone and seek help.

Good Morning Vietnam, The Fisher King and Dead Poets Society are some of our families favorites, and most recently RV. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. He left behind a wife, three adult kids, and throngs of many fans. God bless you and RIP!

August 12, 201412 yr His "Robin Williams Live on Broadway" from 2002 might be his best work IMO. His skit on...well, the entire stand up was belly hurt from laughing good; in particular his part on how golf began. Tragic tragic.
August 12, 201412 yr Appears that he first tried to cut his wrists, then abandoned that idea and hung himself with a belt from the closet door/frame. He was in a seated position - which means it would be reasonable to say that he could have stood up and helped himself had he decided not to go through with it.
