The governor of Missouri is the most incompetent person involved in this whole mess. Looks up comments or interviews with his Lt. Governor, who apparently hasn't been able to speak with the guy in about FIVE years! Like most lawyers, the governor surrounds himself with only other lawyers in his inner circle, excluding all others, (his own posse), it's a very strange way to run a state.

 

I was there when this all started, and my daughter is minutes from this whole situation. Up until a few nights ago, she was hearing 10-20 gunshots a night, and those weren't from the cops I am assured. She naively took one position, cops are racists, but I told her to just chill out, stay away from the protests if you can, and wait for the truth to come out. I saw it looked bad but life experience has shown me whatever the media puts out is generally about 50% fictitious. The Richard Jewell story was 100% made up by the Atlanta Constitutional Journal, with no basis at all other than a hunch by a reporter. He probably works at MSNBC now. SO I gave her a few cases to look at (Richard Jewell, Duke LAX, Tawanna Brawley, etc), who all had strong witness statements. I told her about my one and only law class in 1984, when an instructor had a man run in and grab his briefcase off the desk in front of 100+ students. In the end as we described what we saw, we could not even get the race of the perp correct, a damning statement for "eye witness" accounts, which was his point.

 

Sadly I was there in part to celebrate a memorial of her friend, who was murdered there just two years earlier, on August 18 2012. They were athletes together at SLU and their team profile pics look nearly identical, meaning it could easily have been my daughter. She was targeted because she was a "white woman", which was the M.O. of the young killer. Many other victims came out as well, all white women, they were just not murdered because they did not fight back. Race tensions are generally high in St Louis I think, though her murder (in the streets as she sat in her car on the phone with her mom) caused the nation to hardly bat an eye. I don't think the town itself even cared, as if it were normal.

 

So you don't think I am making this up, her name is Megan Boken. Google her and you will essentially know what my own daughter looks like as well. I reminded my kid that Sunday night, before she did any protesting (the desire to do so she has picked up from her teachers), I just told her to remember that she is the enemy there, even if she agrees with their view. She is a target as the other killer said of Megan Boken. I am doubly sad now that Megan's death meant nothing to anyone, not a person in this thread even knew or cared about her, and she was a girl who did everything the right way. However, now a young violent man in the same town will essentially be a hero through the rest of time. What a messed up world we live in.

 

The truth as we know it today is nothing like it was the day she and I were "accosted" in her dorm parking lot by a protester wanting money "for the cause".

Can we get the Governor of Missouri, the Congressman of that district, CNN and MSNBC to stop calling the shooting a murder and calling for the prosecution of the officer and justice for Michael Brown?

 

How about justice period? Whether it be an indictment or them declining to prosecute.

 

The truth is, anything short of the death penalty for this Officer will not satisfy those that are calling for his head.

Fox News is not perfect. The network needs to persuade Bill O'Reilly that he passed by his "best used by" date a few years ago, GOP operative Karl Rove should have been sent packing after he embarrassed himself and the network on election night 2012, Shep Smith needs to be magically disappeared, and Murdock must stop hiring potential Republican presidential candidates to provide commentary - but it still does the best job by far of covering the news of any of the networks.

 

That being said, none of the networks have been objective in their reporting of the real injustice that is being done in Ferguson and that injustice is the alignment of an entire state and federal government against one individual police officer who happens to be white. Whether the level of force that Officer Wilson used in defending himself or not was justified, justice is not using the vast resources of the federal government to prosecute a case against one man who should be presumed legally innocent until after an investigation of the facts and a trial, if the facts justify a trial.

 

There is a very good chance that Mike Brown has already received justice. The real question is whether justice is blind or whether it will be driven by racial hatred in this case. Nobody deserves mob justice in this country.

It is astounding that a "news" network that employs racist, tax-dodging, fraud perpetrating Al Sharpton apparently has more credibility among blacks than Fox News does. I don't see how that is Fox News' fault.

I watched CNN again this morning and the reporter from Ferguson has done just about everything to point out the "holes" in the story of Michael Brown's friend and the families' lawyer. I don't think it's a network thing as much as each person speaking about the incident has his/her slant on the events.

As more information has come out there has been less and less condemnation of the officer, except for those that either haven't kept up with the case or those wanting to politicize it.

I called out Fox because they are the only media outlet using the words "beaten nearly unconscious" and I want to know how someone who is nearly unconscious can fire off 6 fatal shots. I've seen people nearly unconscious and they weren't capable of firing a gun. My only objection to the entire report that Fox News reported was the use of the words "nearly unconscious". That is why I called them out.

And no, the theory I was floating was that if Johnathan Gentry's message was done solely for publicity then he would have gone on all the networks and not just Fox News. If he really wanted his message to make an impact then he would have gone for all the networks and not just one. It's clear now that despite the things he said in his message that I agree with that his message was more to mock black people than to try to awaken them. That makes Clizzy right about Mr. Gentry. He did that video for publicity. And that is shameful because he has some excellent points.
