No need to release information to the public when you are still interviewing potential witnesses. Incidents such as police brutality taking place in Oakland, California in the 1960s and 70s which led to the Black Panthers being formed. Incidents such as the police and firemen spraying black protesters in Alabama. Believe the Governor of Alabama ordered that one. What was his name? The Bull? Incidents like those is what I was referring to. Incidents where blacks feel they are mistreated by the police. Now I have answered your question twice. So now, as I asked you before and deflected once again, I'm asking you for a second time: So you agree with mountainref? Do you believe cops will start turning a blind eye to black criminals in an effort to avoid being the cause of a riot? Are cops now going to scared of black people and turn a blind eye to black criminals? I disagree that those incidents that you cited are good parallels to the intervention of a state governor, a U.S. president, and a U.S. Attorney General before local authorities were even allowed to complete an investigation, but the important thing is that you are satisfied that you answered the question. As for your question, I disagree that police officers will ignore crimes committed by blacks in the future because of the rush to judgment of Officer Wilson. However, I think that the way that Wison was vilified without the benefit of a full investigation and the aftermath of his actions may cause some cops to hesitate when faced with similar circumstances and that hesitation may be deadly.
August 20, 201412 yr It's not a joke. It's not a game. If anyone says to you "come see the protest" you need to say "NO!" There's a lot of people out there playing "journalist." I was one of those fools playing "journalist." I will confess that this was the dumbest thing I've ever done in my life. The over-saturation of media is not helping the cause. We were filming at the burned down QT on West Florissant when a protester threw a glass bottle at the police. The crowd was asked by police to disburse over and over again. Those warnings fell on deaf ear's. The police department yelled repeatedly over the loud speaker for the media to separate from the protesters. The "media" understood the level of sincerity when the audible sound of weapons being charged echoed loudly over the chanting demonstrators. A police officer in riot gear invited me to hide behind his armored vehicle. I chose a spot off of the road close to fellow photographer Michael Thomas. The police released a few smoke canisters and then deployed chemicals. I started to choke when an all too familiar sound filled the air. Actual gunfire. This is an unmistakable sound. We heard it during night infiltration in the U.S. Army. I will never forget the sound of gunfire coming my way. The crazy part is that it was a welcome sound. If you heard it....that means that you're still alive. Bullets (unless subsonic) travel faster than the speed of sound. If you heard it...you're alive. The police descended on our position while screaming "Get the **** out of here!" We were confused as to where he wanted us to go. I remember screaming "WHERE", but I don't remember hearing a direction to run. Still choking from the CS canisters....I took off and ran as fast as I could. All of this was captured on high definition video. I will happily supply is to any media outlet who requests a copy. If you share or redistribute this video on social media or television then you MUST credit Karl Lund for capturing it. Heed my warning. Ferguson is nothing short of a war zone. I will not be able to sleep tonight. I pray that all of my fellow photographer's, police officer friends and ALL of the protesters get home safe. I can't believe that this is happening in our city. August 20, 201412 yr I was more focused on the fact four officers beat a man they wrongfully detained and then charged him with bleeding on their uniforms. That's the type of thing that builds unrest in a community... :idunno: The writer obviously has an agenda and the stories tell exactly one side of the story. I think it's more telling that one of the cops that beat a black man for absolutely no reason in a town that is 70% black was elected by that town to a city counsel seat.

That's impressive...He was not trained to aim for an arm and we still don't know how close he was when the fatal shot was fired. Nor do we know if any shots missed their target completely. I wonder how long it will be before somebody floats the theory that the x-rays were faked?

I'm not sure exactly what they mean by "nearly unconscious". Maybe he meant he was dazed...I don't know. It's not like he was shooting at a small target though...he was shooting at a very large man allegedly coming right at him. It didn't take a sharp shooter...

According to reports, Brown was only 35feet away when he started to "bum rush" officer Wilson. That isn't very far away and he hit Brown in the arm 4 times and the head 2 times. I assure you cops are not trained to shot at arms or heads. I would say it was not impressive shooting. Impressive would have been Brown with 6 shots to this chest.
