He may have acted in poor judgement but what would most of us do if we feared for our life. While Eric Holder is busy prosecuting the cop, maybe he can check the status of the Fast and Furious incident in which Brian Terry was killed.

Im serious in saying it is incidents like this that will make SOME and MOST cops very wary of what they do. IMO they will turn a blind eye to certain things due to race issues for fear this incident could be them.

Name another similar incident in which the governor of a state demanded that a police officer be vigorously prosecuted and the Attorney General of the United States interjected himself into a case without even giving the local and state police departments time to complete their investigations. I don't recall any.
August 20, 201412 yr I work on base and previously worked for the military in leased office space in Arlington, VA. In both locations, most Soldiers changed into their uniforms after they arrived at work. You will see very few members of the military on the Washington Metro or on the streets of DC., although they do generally wear their uniforms when they eat lunch near the base. I doubt that my experience here is much different than it would be at other military installations near large cities. Elizabethtown is not what I consider a large city. It's not just the wackos, it is also the large number of people with a strong anti-military sentiments in areas like this. There's 100K people in Hardin County. It's not Louisville large, but it's a significant island of population unto itself. Much smaller cities around the country have 3-4 network TV affiliates.
August 20, 201412 yr Since I now live in an area where a lot of Ft. Knox soldiers live, I will say it must be a DC thing. I see soldiers every day dressed in cammo. They're shopping in E-town, getting gas in towns such as Irvington, Hawesville, Hardinsburg, Brandenburg. They're eating at McDonalds and such. Maybe the reason in DC is the heightened possibility of an attack by a terrorist (domestic or foreign). Apparently those wackos haven't zoned in on Podunk, KY.I grew up in the area and now have moved back. Seeing soldiers in uniform is just another Wednesday. If you live close to Knox then you will be exposed to a lot of soldiers. Many of the people I workout with on a weekly basis are current or former soldiers. I also go on base to workout weekly and in fact will be doing a triathlon on base on Saturday.

Much smaller cities around the country have 3-4 network TV affiliates.Fairfax County's population alone is over 1.1 million, and that does not include the population of Arlington, Alexandria, or Falls Church. This is also a heavily liberal Democratic area. The demographics are not similar to Hardin County. This is a very polarized area politically and people who openly despise the military are much too common here.

As far as race and racism.....its here and unfortunately here to stay, Educate yourself on the issues and be smart try to change it when you can, but realize there are bad people in the world be prepared. Bottom line, if kid was white this would have been a thread with ten replys. Kid was black, black folks feel discriminated, and the white folks are sick of hearing about it. So its controversial, the media plays us all like puppets. Trust our justice system, now this kid that was shot has had his character tried by the public as well as a cop. No one here can get a fair trial. If you like the ideal of america you have to trust our justice system to get it right most of the time nothing is perfect, my vote is to shut up and wait for the facts to come out. If you loot, and steal, you are trash the issue or reason you have makes no difference.
