August 9, 201412 yr Usually the adage is play for the tie at home, and the win on the road, isn't it? The thing that I didn't like about the bunt was what happened with the first two batters. It wasn't like they got on with seeing-eye dribblers in the hole. They were hitting rockets. Why give the pitcher an easy out, to get his confidence back? In this particular instance...don't like the bunt.

August 9, 201412 yr You have to bunt in the 9th inning with a runner in 2nd with no outs down one. You absolutely have to I'm with you. Skip has to get it done there & he didn't.
August 9, 201412 yr HoF induction ceremony was pretty cool. Dave Parker battling Parkinson's was tough to see for a lot and Davey Concepcion was visibly emotional during the Dave Parker Video and through his few remarks. Oester about broke down during his speech and Junior was noticeably nervous during his remarks as well. You could tell that being inducted to the Reds HoF was a big deal and meant a lot to all three of them.
August 10, 201412 yr Btw Bruce hit a home run in the first inning to tie it at 1. Does that one count or not? I get confused if they are meaningful or meaningless. Reds down 2-1 in bottom of 3rd. It's 1st and 3rd with 1 out though after a Billy bunt base hit and an error on Garrett Jones to allow Bruce to hit and Billy to go to 3rd.
