Would Mesorasco have even played today if Pena had been healthy?

Probably not.

Nope.

If the throw wasn't on the plate, then he's likely safe. Agree?

If the throw is within a few feet of the plate either way, yes he's out. They are major league players. I think the chances of them putting the ball close to the plate are pretty good.

Who is doing radio with Marty today? I recognize the voice but can't place the name. Of course, I've been listening the whole time and haven't heard it mentioned once.

I believe it's Doug Flynn.

That makes sense. There was more of a Kentucky bent to the broadcast, which is a sign of how good Marty is in the booth in terms of where/how he drove the between-pitch conversations.

The Reds are treading water. 2.5 behind in the wild card with a cluster of teams bunched ahead. Just can't seem to break out.

The situations are different. Plus a caught stealing is an aggressive mistake, which are much more tolerable than boneheaded mistakes.

I understand that but it's still an out and it's a killer especially when leading off or with just one out late in a tight game. Hamilton is a huge weapon and I do like his aggressiveness but he needs to "think" a little better.

Mezzo with a slam and Cueto with his 14th win!

And I'll ask again, can Mezzo play left field? Anyone think he could be taught? And yes I realize he's not that fleet of foot.

A young Johnny Bench played outfield, even CF.

Trips had a blast and now free pizza tomorrow. It is a nice thing to have 7 in the family. 7 free pizzas. Thanks Johnny and JJ!!

Careful 75...suggested Meso to 1B and got blasted for it. Many here think that pitchers can't pitch to anyone other than Devin.

Who has ever suggested that?

I obviously am of the opinion that it was closer than you think it was. If it was that easy to put a throw right on the plate, there'd be more OF assists.
