Most Likely an 8-track of Kiss. Probably Rock and Roll Over or Love Gun.

Hard to believe that music was put out on a system that would pause or 5 or 6 seconds in the middle of a song and then continue after it had switched tracks.

Firsts:

album - Steve Martin Wild & Crazy Guy

I listened to this album seemingly every day as a kid.

I don't remember the first one I had, but recall very well the first album I bought with my own $,,,Earth, Wind & Fire - That's the way of the world.

Word

Christmas of '78 got 2, Foreigner "Double Vision" and Trooper "Thick as Thieves".

For those that don't know who Trooper was, I bet you have heard this one........

Don't remember my first album, I think a Bill Cosby one. First 45 - Brown Sugar - Rolling Stones; 8 track - Three Dog Night Greatest Hits

I've told this story before. First 8-track was a bootleg bought at a flea market. Half was Led Zeppelin IV; the other half was Neil Diamond. Made me and my mom both happy.

WOW, what a combo!

First 45 was "Sunshine" by Jonathan Edwards.

Don't remember my first album or CD. I think my first cassette was a taping of someone else's album using the microphone lying next to the speaker of the phonograph.

My first Album was Def Leppard's Hysteria when I was in 4th or 5th grade. I wore out Pour Some Sugar On Me. My first CD I bought used from my older cousin, Tone Loc, Loced After Dark.

Never smoked but always had a matchbook for my 8 track player.

For some of us slightly younger would you mind explaining the reference. I know my generation has the thing where everyone will know you had to blow into the Nintendo game and push it back and to the left as far as possible to get it to play.

Pretty sure first album was "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". I know my first 45 was Sugarloaf's "Green Eyed Lady".

Dear youngster, 8 tracks consisted of 4 channels for lack of a better word. After 2 or 3 songs, the 8 track would pause and switch to the next channel. After time or with cheap 8 tracks you would start to hear 2 songs at the same time. You would need to insert the match book into the bottom of the 8 track where it entered to player to better align the player with the track it was supposed to be playing.

Side note, hated those songs that faded out and back in as they went from track 2 to track 3.

Weren't they called "programs"? I think I remember that. I also vividly remember that sound when you switched from program 1 to 2 on to 3 or 4 to get to a song you like. The worst part was if your favorite song was the 4th song in the 2nd program, you had to listen to the first 3 songs to get to yours. Seems unbelievable now looking back on it. My step-dad used to play a pea-green Bread 8-track to death. "...baby I'm a want you...."
