All this transferring is getting out of hand. All I'm going to say

This is an example of the pot calling the kettle black. Transferring is getting out of hand. If I was a Rebel fan I wouldn't complain about anything. You scared Malik is going to ruin your plans?

come one come all, just means everybody wants to play in the best region going!!! the 12th is going to be fun to watch this year. and i don't think anybody is scared!!

It's interesting that people make comments like that, regarding the KHSAA, yet often aren't familiar with the actual rules - or the specifics of the situations. It's unfair to criticize unless one knows both.

I do not know this situation other than what had been presented on here but I do know the rules. Recruitment and transferring is out of hand....kids moving in with other people or living at the same address and enrolling with a "new" one.

No complaints here

4. No recruiting comments or allegations of KHSAA rules violations by any school, coach, player or booster are allowed. No comments about where any player lives, has lived, or where they are from in a recruiting context. This is not the place to report KHSAA violations. Feel free to contact Kentucky High School Athletic Association | KHSAA ? Student-athletes of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow to report such violations, but do not discuss violations here.

I look for mercer to have a nice team and look forward to watching them. Will Hager is my favorite player not from Boyle

If you don't know the situation then how can anyone comment on what is or isn't the rules? That makes no sense at all.

It's up to the KHSAA. Not us.

I'm assuming that if Dow's transfer wasn't totally official before, it is now. Frakes tweeted that Renner confirmed the transfer.

Ah come on, Jim. It was official here on August 13 when we left it on the board after it was confirmed by our own sources. :D

I was just marveling at how weird it seemed that three days later Renner was finally acknowledging it.

To his credit he has been cooperative and encouraging to Malik Dow's situation. Everyone should follow Coach Renner's lead and hope for the best for Dow and his family.

Oh the collusion in Mercer County Athletics! Lol

The Big Bully Mercer County continues to flex it's muscles on the Athletic front! smh

Old timers quiz: Anybody remember VonDale Morton's departure from Mercer to LexCath back in the 90s? That the Titans (errrr ... Scotties) receive an excellent player is a sort of delayed balancing act. Unusual things are going on recently; maybe this is the new normal, but I'm not so sure it is a good road to travel.

Old Timers Quiz. .........depends how old you are I guess. VonDale is 37 and he would be the cousin of Robert and Rodney Morton that played at Bryan Station. And please do expand on why you think it's "not a good road to travel. "

1) It's odd that Mercer Co. is receiving some attention regarding a transfer, which it usually does not. I have no issues with this particular transfer situation, but it seems ironic that they are the benefactor of such a talented transfer after all these years.

2) The current trends indicate that the doors are opening wider and wider in regards to transfers, and that is the road that causes me concern. The KHSAA is in a no-win situation, which makes it nearly impossible to monitor all that is going on. I'm just concerned about the future of high school sports in Kentucky as it relates to transfers, that's all.

^^You make an excellent point. It is unusual that Mercer would get a notable transfer (good athlete). That, in and of itself, when combined with the fact that the kid is transferring there from a basketball powerhouse for which he started the last 2 years, should lend itself to the legitimacy of the situation. In other words, it's contrary to common sense to make the assertion that it's a "basketball move."

While I understand why 3 kids transferring to Scott County would create dialogue, why is it that Mercer getting 1 is getting so much attention - and negativity? To your point, how many schools in the state do you think have received a "significant" transfer this year? There are many of those that don't seem to be getting any attention. Things that make you go hmmmm.....
