Then its his father, a family member is what I was told.

Maybe his great great great great great grandmother?

I dont understand how his situation is any different than some others that have already been ruled eligible in the 12th.

It is frustrating because if his mother feels it is in his best interest to come to Mercer and sign over legal guardianship to the Hagers' then it should be a no-brainer! How did the kid from PC get eligible at SW? How is it that the kid from Butler transferred to Boyle and apparently his dad has already moved back to Louisville and he is living with a teammate? How is Ronnie Carson getting eligible at Scott County? (maybe he isn't, but heard he was) Way too inconsistent on these rulings! Let him play!

It's hilarious to me how everyone in Mercer County thinks they know who, what, when and where about Jeremiah Bell. Been hearing that one for a while. Last I saw Bruce is living in Boyle County. That's how come Jeremiah is eligible. Bona ride change of address. Pretty simple. That's natural though to whine about everyone else when things don't go your way. I'll be sure to tell his father you all said hello when I see him again. :thumb:

It is all funny that SOME think they know whats going on with every kid!!!! Maybe you should know facts before you start talking about others and their situation. I am sure Mr. Bell or Ronnie Carsons family would rather you ask them face to face then hide behind a computer and say stuff about them!!!

Agree with u 100%. Now that Dow has been ruled ineligible everybody from Mercer wants to put their 2 cents in about Bell. I feel bad for Dow and hope he gets to play. 12th region is going to be exciting for sure

The fact is...Malik Dow should be ruled eligible. :thumb:

And hopefully he will be after the appeal.

One difference is that here it isn't an exchange student like one of the kids at Southwestern. Come to think of it, isn't Steve Wright batting quite an average on talented transfers who come from foreign nations or US territories?

I never said one time anything against the Bell kid, it was actually a Boyle County resident and fan that mentioned to me about him now living with a teammate! I am just going by what I heard and more than anything the inconsistent nature of KHSAA on how they rule on each one of these. I hope they all get eligible if it is in best interest of the kid--if it will help Bell, Carson, Dow and whomever else get a college scholarship then I am all for it! I also don't think Mercer people are upset or jealous or whatever because when have they really had a transfer of this magnitude anyway? I think Coach Cook will do a great job with or without transfers and I agree with BC23 that the 12th will be exciting either way! I would probably have more of an issue with the way SW gets transfers that Boyle or Mercer!

With or without Dow I think coach cook will have Mercer playing good ball. May take some hits early in the season but I expect Mercer to be very competitive in the 12th region. Whether Drew Davis gets healthy and plays will be a big factor. Feel bad for that kid. Injury after injury. Very talented athlete

Probably be easier in life to go by what you know and not what you heard.

Mercer went 19-4 without Davis or Dow this summer. These kids love Cook and if you want to run through the wall for your coach good things will happen. This season doesn't rely on 1 player for Mercer Does it help....absolutely ....
