  1. I believe there are about 10-12 teams that have a legit shot at the podium in March! Speaking of that when is the draw for the Sweet 16? Alot depends on the draw in my opinion!
  2. Maybe you are correct but they seem to be figuring it out. Lost to a top 20 Mercer team in Catholic tournament then played them again last night and won by 36 or so. I know GRC has had injuries but I think Scott can give them a run and I just think they are top 20 material! There are several top 20 teams with 6 or 7 losses. Strength of schedule is top 20 for sure.
  3. Voting starts today at 1:00 she is going against a young lady from Orlando Florida! Keep the votes coming! LEXFORTEX!
  4. Make sure and vote for Lexy! The girl she is going against is from Indiana! We can’t let an Indiana girl beat a Kentucky girl!
  5. It looks like she has a pretty big lead in this round! You can vote everyday! I also read where Lexy now has 307 career 3pters and that puts her at #10 all time I believe! Keep voting for her and lets try and send her to Texas to represent Kentucky!
  6. Pretty cool! How awesome would it be for a KY girl to compete in Texas in a 3pt competition! I saw where she made 8 3's last night against Russell County. I will def make a point to vote for her once a day. I think she is the only girl in KY. I looked it up and there are only 16 girls in the country competing for this spot. It is a fan vote so lets help her out and start voting at 1:00pm!
  7. I watched it and I did not think she walked! It is funny how the same person that said she walked also said let it play out and they should have not called the foul? Which way is it, let it play out or call it? I think we are missing the boat here, it was a good high school GIRLS basketball game by 2 high level teams in DECEMBER! Both teams learned stuff from this and will get better. Sacred Heart played better the majority of the game but it is a 32 minute game! I have heard Souder say many times he wants early tests so he can see what his team needs to work on and I am sure he can find lots of areas they need to improve on as can Coach Moir. So in reality other than a win or a loss what at this point in the season did that game mean--Both teams are really good!
  8. Looks like a foul but either way why were they on her the score was tied!!! I️ went back and watched and she missed the second free throw with 6 sec and by the time she was headed up the floor it was 1.8 sec and it sure looked like they thought they were down 1!
  9. I️ saw the picture as well and # 12 def had both hands on her arm. My point is not whether or not ref did or did not call the foul but why did SH go after her so aggressively! I️ watched the video and they really went after her. With 1.8 sec she would had to have made a 70ft shot. Also SH missed 2 of 4 free throws down the stretch and Mercer hit their last 6 in a row. Usually depends on which end of scoreboard you are on whether you want ref to make that call or not! If everyone is honest you have been on both sides of that! Great HS game with a March feel! Both teams played really hard!
  10. yes Prepspin will cover the Mercer/Sacred Heart game live tomorrow night. Suppose to start at 8:00pm but may be later if the other 4 games get behind: 1:00 Collins vs. Dunbar 2:45 Franklin Co. vs. Russell County (Sweet 16 triple overtime rematch from last year) 4:30 Nelson Co. vs. Southwestern 6:15 Scott High vs. Lincoln Co. 8:00 Mercer vs. Sacred Heart
  11. Lol! No Seygan Robins is the neice of the head coach and was born and raised in Mercer County!
  12. I know this is a boys thread but Mercer girls just won the state tournament with all Mercer Co. girls! Is this transfer thing worse on the boys side vs the girls side?
  13. Well I am a believer that anyone can beat anyone on any give night! It was scary that Mercer missed 15 or16 free throws and was 7-29 from 3pt line but yet with about 4 min to go in game were up 70-40! Mercer put young ones in and Lincoln chose not to and started pressing I guess to make score more respectable. Can SW play with them?
  14. There will be some really good games this weekend at Mercer Co. for the 1st Annual KY Premier Challenge. Here is the schedule: 12:00 Collins vs. Pulaski Co 2:00 Boyle Co. vs. Webster Co. 4:30 Russell vs. Franklin Co. 6:15 Sacred Heart vs. Simon Kenton 8:00 Mercer Co. vs. Mason Co. Should be some good games!
  15. Seygan Robins has committed to UofL Lexy and Faith Lake (twins) have committed to SEMO Emmy Souder has not committed but has several D-1 offers Emma Davis has also not committed but has several D-1 offers as well Should be an exciting season for Mercer County Also all of those girls listed above are just juniors!
  16. Anyone know when the Cats Pause Yearbook will come out? I love to see what other coaches think about teams in each region.
  17. Since it is kind of late, whoever gets it I wonder how he will fill his staff?
  18. really no need to interm tag on because all these coaching jobs are 1 year deals anyway. So if the coach struggles or does not do a good job he can be replaced after 1 year. The interm tag I would think would scare some coaches off. With the right coach who is willing to stay longer than 2 years and try and build it the correct way this could be a sleeping giant!
  19. If it was earlier in the summer I would think they would get tons of interest! I guess time will tell. It is hard on kids when coaches move around every 2 years or so. Mercer seems to struggle to keeps boys coaches very long!
  20. I think will be difficult being that school has been in session for a couple of weeks now. Do they have anyone on the inside that could take over? Wonder who all will be interestedl. Faulkner is a good peice to build around!
  21. Lets face it, this tournament will go wherever KHSAA can get the best deal for them. I think it would be awesome to host this at Rupp Arena! It would also be cool if the Yum Center got involved in either the boys or the girls! I know money drives everything but I would like to see attendance numbers if held in either Lexington or Louisville.
  22. I agree with most! The hotels were nice but too expensive! The arena like i said it first class and not a bad seat in the place. The lockerooms they assigned the teams were like a crackerbox! At WKU you get to use the mens and womens lockeroom-they were off limits at BB&T. That is not a huge issue but like I said I just assumed (I know you are not suppose to do that) NKU and just the area in general would really wine and dine teams to make sure it stayed. Sad but if KHSAA is not making money they don't care about it! Raffertys was a sponsor so they had meal discounts but what kind of cash did they give KHSAA? It is an awesome experience for the kids and community to go to the SWEET 16 but there is no telling what it cost each school to send a team and stay the entire time between hotels, meals, busses etc.! I agree with an earlier post that there should be more financial help from KHSAA to these deserving teams. Kids and coaches work way too hard and spend way too much time not to get the royal treatment as a reward for all their hard work! It is back at NKU next year so maybe they will discuss ways to improve! Like I said they have a top notch facility to work with!
  23. Like I said the St. Elizabeth people were very gracious and helpful. It did not have anyhthing to do with whether or not a team lost of won. Heck fire you are in the Sweet 16 so no sour grapes at this point. I am just saying that when a security guard tells you that you can't go past this point because she has to keep it clear--and it is your game and you have to get back on the court something is wrong--saying she is doing what Julian Tackett told her to do--which i get but can we use some common sense! Also saw her get on an official who was waiting for his next game to officiate and she ran him off as well. He yelled can't wait for this to go back to BG! THat is what I am talking about--maybe it is not event staff but security staff it different. Also why did they do general admission seating vs giving everyone a specific seat? Rupp doesnt do that and neither did Diddle? The arena itself is a great place to play and watch-not a bad seat--I guess I was just expecting them to roll out the red carpet more than they did! Parking was cheaper than BG just had to pay once vs each session which i think at BG it was $8 per session where as here it was $5 per day. Oh well congrats to Butler they were the best team!
  24. I agree with most the arena is awesome! However the event staff were so rude most of the time I was there and I was never treated like that at WKU. Also the hotels are too far from the arena as well are the nicer restaurants. Traffic at times was awful especially at rush hour. I watched thier staff go around the arena yelling-not asking to take thier feet out of the seats. I get it if they don't want feet in seats but they were very rude in asking. Just did not have the same big time tournament feel that Diddle does. St. Elizabeth people were very gracious as well. What happended to the halftime entertainment between schools? Seems like KHSAA did not put as much into this--I will be anxious to see what happens at Rupp in terms of halftime enterainment between schools etc.
