Mercer County 2014/2015

^^You make an excellent point. It is unusual that Mercer would get a notable transfer (good athlete). That, in and of itself, when combined with the fact that the kid is transferring there from a basketball powerhouse for which he started the last 2 years, should lend itself to the legitimacy of the situation. In other words, it's contrary to common sense to make the assertion that it's a "basketball move."

While I understand why 3 kids transferring to Scott County would create dialogue, why is it that Mercer getting 1 is getting so much attention - and negativity? To your point, how many schools in the state do you think have received a "significant" transfer this year? There are many of those that don't seem to be getting any attention. Things that make you go hmmmm.....

It's all about the news cycle. Some are old news at this point. Plus it isn't basketball season. Once the season rolls around there will be a recap on who has transferred where and folks will start crying again.

This thread is still on page one. Nobody cares about CKY schools not names Scott County. That thread is on page three.

The big question is after all the transfers to the 12th region this year will anyone be able to dethrone Wayne Counties home grown kids when it counts?

I can't wait to find out. It's going to be an exciting season in the 12th.

I think that there are 2-3 teams that, on paper, can beat Wayne. One could argue that these teams have more talent. However, Wayne finished last year ranked 6th in the state and won the 12th region for the second straight year. They return virtually everyone, including their "big 3."

The Wayne boys have played together for years and all they do is win. I'm not betting against them until I see something that makes me think otherwise.

The fact that we are even discussing this when Wayne should be 6th or better pre-season.....that just speaks to how strong the 12th will be this year.

Because the Titans got the best incoming transfer and now people are scared. They should be.

Nobody is going to beat Wayne this year. They are too good. Even with the transfers coming in at other schools they'll still rule the 12th. Wayne and Lincoln. Mercer will be fun to follow this season. Loads of talent with Malik coming in. I'm excited.

If Rodney Woods ever started playing the same style as the rest of the 12th region then it would be bad news for the rest of KY because he would crush people.

I don't think Wayne wins the 12th this season.

Please expand on the style comment.

Who does?

NOBODY is scared !! And Dow isn't the best transfer. No disrespect to him bc he has talent but he's not even the best player on the team. Mercer Co will have a nice team but they are a year away. I love Will Hager and Faulkner is going to be a stud. I won't believe Davis is playing until I see it. If he does play then that will change things a little but even with him I don't think they can win region . Wayne is the favorite until somebody knocks them off

I've been told that Malik Dow has been ruled ineligible by the KHSAA. This ruling will be appealed and I hope it is overturned. This ruling bothers me as this is a situation where I feel the kid is being punished unfairly. It is no secret I'm one of the biggest supporters of transfers on BGP but I'll add that seeing how some are ruled eligible and others are ruled ineligible can be frustrating. I hope that this decision is overturned and that Dow is eligible to play immediately. He deserves it.

Truth.. Appeal coming in a few weeks.

KHSAA is so inconsistent with their rulings.

I like Wayne.
