Science quiz - 13 questions

Featured Replies

The question about a chemical reaction. I know a nail rusting is a chemical reaction. What type of reaction is sugar dissolving in warm water? I don't remember 7th Grade. Water boiling is a heat related reaction, cannot think of the term for that.

Change in form, not chemical makeup.

Or change of state - solid-liquid-gas.

I believe the correct answer to this is dissolution.

I was surprised that the atmosphere gas question was missed by so many. Only 31% of college grads got it right and the best score in all the other demographic groups was 25% answering correctly.

The toughest question for me that I had to really think about was the chemical reaction.

I believe the correct answer to this is dissolution.

Correct. When sugar dissolves, it doesn't become liquid sugar, so it isn't a change of state. Dissolution is the best answer.
