Heard about the offense, anything stand out about the D or special teams?

 

Defense was OK. They struggled against the run.

I saw little to be super excited about.

 

I'll take a 4 win season and be VERY happy with 5 wins.

Need to stiffen up in the middle of the defense.

LBs will be questionable going through this season. The guys gotta step up and hold their own. I was really worried about the inside D tackles but I was encouraged with Meant, CJ and Mike Douglas too. The DBs will be much better IMO. Drew will be fine with the continued reps. Timmons looks a lot stronger without losing speed or quickness.

For as much as you all hyped him I thought he would have done better.

Looks to me like the QB spot is going to be Towles, with Phillips as backup. Barker just needs time...hope they don't throw him in too soon. Towles showed the strongest arm, especially with balls out in the deep flat. Threw 90% of his passes to his left side...what's up with that!! The pick and lack of deep throws still makes me question his decision making under pressure and confidence by the coaches....we'll see.

 

Running backs looked like a strength....lots of competition and ability. Defense still a big question, especially depth when playing with the big boys of the SEC.

 

Good crowd for having come off a 2-10 season. Great weather helped, but I would say no more than 25,000 actual fans in seats.

I believe Barker is the guy for the future, but I wouldn't let him see the field this year. I'm in the camp that this is going to be another rough year for UK regardless of who is under center.

I believe it all changes when the QB's are live. Just really can't get a true measure of performance when the QB's are not live. When the gun has bullets in it, the game changes drastically.

He had 9 td and 1 int with a TORN shoulder last year. Write it down that he will re-surface in the fall after his surgery on that shoulder and if he's healthy finally he may win the job. He has 21 td and 9 int with over 60% completions in his short career.

Nope nothing just don't think he is as good as some people think on here. WKU got the better NKY QB!

 

Wittenberg got the best NKY high school quarterback, UK got the best college prospect.

Hes slower than my grandma and throws an ugly ball even when healthy. I see him being an emergency backup or becoming a medical scholarship and becoming a student coach. There is no way he will start for UK ever again. Also I don't think he will ever be 100% healthy.

The fact that you even bring up his speed tell me all I need to know about your QB opinion.

I think it will all come down to how well Max recovers from his shoulder surgery. Very tough to come back from that in such a short time and regain 100% arm strength. He is slowly recovering and has been throwing softly a bit. Wish him well in his recovery.
