Last Game for Coach Ruthsatz?

Featured Replies

If he passes 8th grade and is held back by his parents he will be ineligible his senior year.

At the delegate meeting this past year it was voted on to change the wording to when they enrolled in High School and not when they finish 8th grade.

Steve Hart went 27-3 in 2000-01 and 23-5 in 2004-05.

The scoreboard doesn't lie.

Hmm... The McCarter led teams. I thought that was longer ago.... Regardless. Point was, it isn't done every day down there. Not something that you walk in the door and do there.

I have never disagreed with a post on this site more heartily than I disagree with this one. Never.

I'm not even the biggest fan of Nick's game, but to say they would have even sniffed getting out of the 9th without Nick is crazy with a capital CRA.

You got that right! No way without Nick Ruthsatz.

Who do you think would be the front runner if he left?

This has all been in the works. Tony B left a good job at TQL to get back into teaching knowing full well that Scott was leaving and you have to be a teacher at CCH to be considered for the head job. Tony B doesn't leave a great job at TQL unless he knows this going to happen. Tony B teaches there now and if things worked out (as they have) the job is his. Tony will have Scotts recommendation for the position. Tony was varsity assistant head coach so to speak this year. Will be an easy transition. Pretty sure all the rest of the coaches will stay on Tonys staff. Tony is well thought of at CCH and has done a good job. Ladies and gentleman meet the new CCH head coach, Tony B.

Good luck Scott and thanks for everything. Great guy, great family guy, great coach. We were lucky to have had him.

Tony B will do just fine.

Does anyone know how many schools Tony B has coached at? Silver Grove (head coach), he was on the NCC bench at least one year, was it Turpin in Ohio? and now Cov Cath, was there any others? Taking a head coaching job at a private school is tough, the money is no where near Public paying jobs (ask Grant Brannen who would have ever thought he would leave his Alma Mater). Are you taking a chance if you do hire Tony B that once he has been successful at CCH he would look to move where the money is? Or what if Ronnie Dawn decides to leave NCC in the near future, would Tony B want to return to his Alma Mater? Lots of questions, would think that they were successful going outside last time with Coach R, could they find another coach from outside to have the same success as Coach R if they go looking? Hope Coach R stays, he has been great for the CCH program.

If he passes 8th grade and is held back by his parents he will be ineligible his senior year.

You sure about that? I remember this being discussed a few years ago with a kid in Kenton Cty District. Was a honor student and was held back after 8th grade. Maybe I'm wrong but pretty sure it happened.

I would think Coach R gets paid better than the normal private school coach? He has to right? I mean he moved halfway across the country to take this job....

I am under the understanding that the Diocese has a pay scale for all teachers and coaches, teachers pay based on years of service, not sure about coaches , but I would think something similar is in place.

1. I have no idea if coach Ruthsatz will leave but I have heard some rumors. (Asst. at Xavier being one of them)

2. His 8th grade son is a nice player and has the right to improve but no way does he start JV at CCH next year. They are pretty stacked as is at that position.

3. Tony Bacigalupo would fit right in at this program and he can handle the role. He put in his time as a head coach and is the #1 asst. now. Sure he doesn't have the resume that a Booher had from Shelby Valley or even Coach R. coming from St. Anthony's but Tony can handle the gig.

Your latter point is 100% false in every sense of the word.

The current rule is after passing 8th grade your clock starts, you lose your senior year. Now, the new handbook for 2014-2015 that rule may indeed change but the new handbook is not published yet.

No one thinks that Fredrick is the head coach if Ruthsatz leaves?

I think Fredrick is happy with his involvement at the assistant coaching level.

Why hasn't Matt Otte"s name been thrown in the ring?

Scott Ruthsatz has done a great, awesome, exceptional job at CCH but he was not a slam dunk to succeed as a head coach.

His coaching history was very limited started out as an assistant At Heidelberg College, Head Coach a St Mary's Central(Very Small School) 500-600 kids K-12 & an assistant at St.Anthony's NJ for 3 years. He was not the top or even an upper level assistant for Coach Hurley but obviously he was paying attention & learned how to coach.
