You can book it that the 4 Boone County schools are in a district together. I see SK moving south to the Scott County district.

Just because a team petitioned to move up doesn't mean the KHSAA has to let them in the final alignment does it?

I'd say that since it says that some schools have accepted moving down and some have refused that the classes are pretty much done. IMO KSHAA is done with the moving of classes and will next be releasing the districts.

I'd imagine this is it, these teams will be in these classes. This is the last step before the draft alignment in April. I could see movement within the districts they set up, but I don't think we're going to see any movement in the classes. And the petitions are ironclad due to the new KHSAA policy.

I've got to admit....unless Cov Cath was just trying to get out of Highlands' class, I just don't see the purpose for their move.

Good point. Seeing how So. Oldham right now is in the same district with Cooper and Conner and Scott and Grant, I'd see So. Oldham being in the same district with Highlands and CCH and Dixie

It will be interesting to see how they do NKY 6A now that there are six teams in 6A. Ryle/SK might be put into a district with Scott County or SK with Scott County and Ryle with a Louisville district.

I say keep those 6 schools in the same district. I really like it because I am one who is all for 4 teams making the playoffs and having a 6 team district makes each game very important in district play.

 

I'd love to have a district of

Cooper, Conner, Ryle, Boone, Sk and Campbell Co.

 

Cooper and Conner already have a great rivalry going, now add the other 2 Boone County schools to the mix and there is a great rivalry being born even before the first district game is played.

 

With all that said, Cooper would be the 2nd smallest school in 6A and not sure how competitive they can be outside the district. That leads me to believe the main reason for Cooper moving up is to cut down on travel during district play because if they would of stayed put they would have no schools close to them to play and would have nightmare travel to road games.

Is this set in stone. It looks like Perry Cent and Letcher would have neen better off in 4A and play in the dist with Clay and Knox.

 

Also wonder why Madison Southern didnt want to move down.
