Maybe! And we think that alone caused a kid in high school to move to play at Cordia? So our speculation is these kids picked up shop, left their families, traveled 800 miles to play for who? I'm sure you don't really believe that? I don't doubt they knew him. But my speculation is they didn't travel all that way "just because they really like Rhodes". Are they related? Did he coach them in AAU? Did he go to school with their dads? Heck anything? It's out of control. And many other examples people give is the same situation in my mind. Transferring for high school sports in order to create super teams is rediculous. Everyone has their reason for transferring and I really don't have issues with it because most of the time it's for more than just sports. It may appear 100% sports related, but most of the time there are MANY other factors. Can ANYONE (without speculation) tell us why these kids transferred to Cordia? Just give me one factual reason and it's done. Someone must know. And if they are using the injuction to "get to play" and then don't win the appeal or whatever it is, then it's completely unfair to the kids they are playing with and against.

Was just offering a possibility of why Cordia over other schools. I do not have any info on the transfers to help you out. I do know of a kid that moved a couple hundred miles just to play for a certain coach but that has nothing to do with this situation.

That happens all of the time but everybody puts their head in the sand when it does.

 

I know an entire family that followed a coach to another job, extremely nice house and rumored jobs waiting. Kid graduated and they move back to their home town...can't be specific due to BGP rules. If anyone doubts this PM me.

If the KHSAA says Cordia is legit that's all I care about. It's just a bigger private school situation.

Before the game, some people were firing off on Cordia, talking about them like a super team stocked full of D1 recruits, how it wasn't fair for schools to try and compete with them. Now that the game is over and they've lost, not nearly as much of that chatter.

 

Also, the route that was followed by those kids to Cordia probably has more similarities with the transfers to other schools than most would be willing to admit or have their heads too buried in the sand to realize.

I'm going to comment on this issue for the last time...........While the Chapman and Ortiz situation looked to be "by the book" and they should've been allowed to play, the whole situation over the last two years seems to be amiss. I could be totally wrong, sorry but that's my take.

Right! They sewed KHSAA to be able to get an injunction that delays the Appeal and allows them to play in the meantime. Didn't sound from Mr Tacketts' statement that KHSAA was too happy about it!
