January 28, 201412 yr Christian Grammy Nominee Natalie Grant Walks Out of the Grammys - The Black Sphere I respect her for standing up for her belief system. More people should do it daily. With that said, does she not own a TV or a computer?
January 28, 201412 yr Good for her. As far as the not owning a TV or computer...I own both and didn't know what kinds of performances were going to happen. Each of those artist have performed classier performances in the past...I guess she expected better from them and not worse.
January 28, 201412 yr Can't say I blame her. :thumb: If I was given front row seats and back stage passes I still wouldn't waste my time with the Grammy's. Unfortunately, music went in the "crapper" starting in the 90's. I pity kids today and 90% of the garbage they have to listen to. JMO.

There's great stuff being produced all the time, you just won't find it much on TV anymore. The rise of mass media coincided with the rise of the internet meaning the easiest people to mass market to are kids and old people. That's who pop music is for.
January 29, 201412 yr People fail to realize that the music you hear on the radio may not be geared towards your demographic... It's being played on the radio for a reason, and that's because it's popular among a big enough demographic to keep it on air. Just because you may not like something, doesn't mean it's crap...
January 29, 201412 yr There has been great music in every era (except early 90's with Grunge Crap) and every era has music that is revolting to the older generations. But that said, it is getting harder to find.
January 29, 201412 yr Older generations think all new music is crap and that their era was the best ever. Rinse. Repeat...
January 29, 201412 yr I listen to a lot of different styles of music and notice that, the less talented the female (pop) singer the least amount of clothes she wears. Sex sales and the untalented ones use it to their advantage.

Just because you may not like something, doesn't mean it's crap...Most of the gyms I have lifted at have all played pop music, and almost everyone at these gyms wears headphones, so they do not have to listen to it. There are all ages in the gym. The gym I am at now plays rock and there is a lot less headphones being worn. I still wear mine most of the time but it is good to know that this gym does not ever play pop music.

That surprises me that you wouldn't expect something that violated your principles. I mean it happens every year.

So let's move past the fact that you don't like the music of today. You WOULD know what to expect , right?

Every generation hates the younger generations music. If you are 50-55 now when you are in a Nursing Home in 30 years playing 70s and 80s music the workers are going to think it is the worse thing they ever heard. If you are 40-45 and in 40 years playing 90s music the workers are going to think it is the worse thing they have ever heard.
January 29, 201412 yr So let's move past the fact that you don't like the music of today. You WOULD know what to expect , right? Honestly, I wouldn't. I'm pretty sheltered from pop culture in general and I don't think I have ever watched a Grammy show in my life. I think I have watched the CMA awards a couple of times and the Oscar show once ( the year Tom Hanks won for Forrest Gump, lol). Other than that I haven't ever watched an awards show at all. However, if I were in the entertainment industry, and was invited to appear/perform then I am sure I would be in tune with the scene enough to know exactly what to expect.

With that said, does she not own a TV or a computer? There is trash all over TV and the computer so you are right that the Grammy's should have been no surprise. I don't watch it on TV or plug into on the computer and I am sure she doesn't either. The question is why did she attend in the first place. We all know that type of stuff is going to happen. Heck, you may as well include radio too. You can't listen to radio with young kids in the car because of what they talk about.
