January 29, 201412 yr I have never shared my perspective before, but man takes a lot from this planet, and I was once made to ponder why in fact did he put us on it...what contributions has man made to the planet? I could come up with two...music and dogs.
January 29, 201412 yr If anything, grunge saved us from the awful hair-metal days and, frankly, made rock'n'roll good again, if but for a short time. Rock music in the late-'80s was atrociously bad. 1991 - Nevermind 1991 - Ten 1992 - Core 1992 - Dirt Drops the mic....
January 29, 201412 yr I suspect she went hoping to be honored by winning an award, and figured she'd be able to put up with whatever came along with that. But I guess she figured out she was wrong and left. She did the right thing for her and good for her. I don't have a problem with it since she didn't make a spectacle of herself apparently. What I mean is, I would be less impressed if she showed up just so she could very publicly make a big deal about it and stomp out the door.
January 29, 201412 yr Lawnboy's Grandpa got ahold of the PC again. Every generation hates the younger generations music. If you are 50-55 now when you are in a Nursing Home in 30 years playing 70s and 80s music the workers are going to think it is the worse thing they ever heard. If you are 40-45 and in 40 years playing 90s music the workers are going to think it is the worse thing they have ever heard. I agree 100%, and I knew my comment would elicit a "boat-load" of comments. Bottomline, I've become my parents, they loathed me listening to Ratt & Dokken.
January 29, 201412 yr I don't like pop. I've never liked pop. I never will like pop. It has no substance. I like rock in all varieties except some of the 80's stuff where Rock became almost like pop. Give me 60's, 70's, 90's, 00's metal, grunge, doesn't matter. Don't like the industrial stuff though. I like Blues and Jazz. I like country as long as it's not that popped up crap like Keith Urban and Taylor Swift. There's great music rolling out but you have to find it. I would never be without satellite radio ever again. I also like bluegrass.
January 29, 201412 yr Why would anyone know what to expect? How can you not? Maybe she's never watched the show . Someone in her posse , though, would have to have an inkling. It's like Kanye going to the Christian Music Awards and leaving because there's too much bible thumping going on. That YouTube rant would be priceless too. Kanye: They kept saying my name wrong so I left. It's YEE-ZUS not JE-SUS!!!!!!
