Dinner: what did you have?

Featured Replies

Took some thick boneless pork ribs, rubbed them down with a rub made by my brother-in-law, got the grill to 350 on low flame, then slow roasted them for an hour and a half. Came out perfect.

Today , Chicken and dumplings, fresh lettuce out of the garden with green onions. I take the gravy from the dumplings to wilt my lettuce. It is very good. Also mashed potatoes, peas and fruit and cookies.

Are your dumplings the puffy kind or slicks? Grandma tought Mrs. TAC to make slicks. Love 'em.

Beer brats cooked with sauerkraut and shaved apples; German potato salad.

Mine are the fluffy kind. Big and light. My Mamaw Rowland taught me how to make them. They are soooooo good.

Mom's side made the fluffy, Dad's side made the slicks.

Took some of dad's chili that he gave me and mixed in some shells. Looking forward to it for lunch today also.

Mission BBQ opened a new joint close by. I ordered a half slab of baby backs and a 3 meat sampler, brisket, pulled pork, and classic sausage. Only side was green beans with bacon.

meh.

In Chicago for Cubs/Reds we had Lou Malnati's pizza and a salad with Gorganzola.

I went to a graduation party that did NOT have BBQ. Cheese coneys and chicken!

Had Flip Daddy's for the first time last night. Great burger and good beer selection. Just a little on the pricey end.

London Broil, rare. Homemade potato salad, strawberry pretzel salad.

Gyros, homemade meat, homemade tzatziki sauce nailed both the flavors and texture. No more trips to GFS for me. My grandson ate so much of the meat I started to think I wasn't going to get any!

Not quite dinner but had lunch at Eagle OTR today.

Bloody Mary was fantastic. Chicken sandwich was covered in so much sauce it was hard to taste the chicken. Way too loud. The scene in that area is really not my style. Had a 45 minute wait so walked to second Saturday on Main. There are some weird dudes over there.

I saw a couple of Reds on Twitter say they either ate there or were going to.
