Dinner: what did you have?

Featured Replies

Skirt Steak marinated in Italian Dressing, fries, cornbread, peas. The lovely lady did great!

What is this?

Skirt Steak is a long cut of meat that either lies just inside or outside the ribcage (ie...inside skirt, outside skirt).....it's very tender, but has to be cut correctly. There's also a membrane that has to be removed before cooking. Often times, a butcher will do it for you. Though they charge way more than it's market value. It is in my rotation here....

Me and baked tilapia have been big buddies recently...
Yo....switch to salmon, cod, or a different white fish. Tilapia, while low in calories is a bottom feeder fish (use your noggin on that).....it has some bad Omega's for you.

I'll buy cod next time.

Friend of the family used to go on alot of fishing trips and

ship us back fresh halibut. Thats good stuff.

Mrs. TAC pan seared some huge chicken breasts coated in Planko, than baked them. Very tasty.

Nothing special but very easy, convenient, and got the job done. Didn't feel like cooking or fast food, exhausted after a long day yesterday, had pepper jack cheese on saltines with Old Wisconsin beefsticks.

It was an horderves dinner :lol2:

Calico beans (recipe in slow cooker thread) and a skillet of corn bread.

Today, beef roast, potatoes, honey glazed carrots, corn bread and brown sugar pie for lunch. For supper, taking the broth from the roast and making french onion soup. Left over roast will go in veggie soup for lunch after church tomorrow.

At at a place called Woodford inn last night. Had ravioli stuffed with ham, black eyes peas, kale in a gravy sauce. Very tasty.

Met another couple at Blinkers Tavern down in Covington last night.

The food there is really good.

Started with some Cheese sticks that are fresh mozzarella and hand bred...not frozen or deepfried.

Also got the fried green tomatoes and they came with an awesome sauce.

I got the the Salmon salad, wife got the Chicken Primavera.

Friend's wife got the Shrimp Risotto Scampi....the Risotto is off the chain.

My buddy got the Blue Cheese crusted Filet and he loved it. There was a little too much blue cheese on it but easily scraped off.

Highly recommend. They even had a guy playing Saxophone in the front last night. We sat in the back room a very private area.

Shrimp and grits from Jewell's on Main in Warsaw. Yum!

Cheese omelet and toast.

Mrs. S gets home tonight.
