Is it common to have that many more Offensive players than Defensive? Does this mean there were ties in the voting?

Two things interest me in this list:

2 of the top LBs IN THE COUNTRY in the class of 2015, Eli Brown and Emmitt Smith, did not even garner HM.

Has to he be the first time a kid finished a season with one team and was already at a new school before being named 1st team All-State (McPeek).

The third thing that jumps out at me is the lack of NKY players.

How do you get named first team/second and HM?

Where is Brenan Kuntz from SK? That is wrong!!

Only two NKY players total?!?!?! Unless I overlooked someone...

Probably Louisville associated press?

No Sutkamp? No Beal?

Again, like the previous All-State teams....not surprised by the lack of NKY players.

Dylan Byrd of DeSales made both first team and honorable mention........(unless there are two Dylan Byrds on the Colts....and both are running backs.......)

I spoke to Rich Skinner about this and he said the entire process is a royal cluster. Lots of communication problems with the guy that now runs KY AP(3rd guy in 5 years). Rich can correct me if I misunderstood but I don't think any NKY kids got nominated due to the lack of communication with the guy that runs it. He is not sure if the Cincinnati Enquirer was even on the email distribution list. Tried a few times to get clarifications on when nominations were to be in. Didn't get a reply.

One more example of how these lists need to be taken with a grain of salt. Again, see the example of two of the top LBs in the country not being on the list.

Yep. I am not going to do the research but my guess is this is by far the fewest number of N. Ky. players ever on this team. It makes me think no one from N. Ky. voted or had input.

Edit: And now I see your message above that explains that is exactly what happened. Totally embarrassing for the AP. I would say they need to have their 4th person in the last 6 years in charge of this next year if that is how the current person is handling things.

Congrats to all named. I feel bad for all the deserving players not named.

Funny how many Graves Co. has on the team and they got their butts handed to them by 1A Mayfield.:sssh:

Here's a question to ponder:

How many high schools are covered by the Maysville newspaper(Ledger?)? They get to nominate the same # as the Louisville or Cincinnati papers.

Easy to see what writers had great influence in the selections!!
