I wrote about this last year on here and will do so again. The whole thing is a mess from start to finish. AP guy doesn't have us (and I think doesn't even have Mike Fields from Lexington) on the e-mail list. Enquirer preps editor Mike Dyer and I asked numerous times for dates to nominate and log-in information to nominate and received an occasional reply that, "it's still in the process." I finally got something from Gary Graves of AP (it was sent Mike Fields and I) on Dec. 21 at 8:38 a.m. saying voting closed at noon. Sent response that we didn't even get to nominate. The process only allows each outlet to nominate 10 kids total. So that means if you have 22 schools as we do or 3 schools in your coverage area you nominate the same number of kids. Before he passed away Westsider (Joey Fosko) and I had talked about proposing a different way to do this and hopefully that will be the case in the future.

Sutkamp is a heck of a player. I really liked watching him play.

Here's a question to ponder:

 

How many high schools are covered by the Maysville newspaper(Ledger?)? They get to nominate the same # as the Louisville or Cincinnati papers.

 

I can't speak for Zach Klemme (just went to the ADI) or Chuck Hamilton. But from what I see in the Saturday paper during football season I would say Mason, Bracken, Fleming, Lewis and a handful of Ohio schools (Manchester, Georgetown, etc.). Several of the small schools in the area that would get coverage don't have football teams (think St. Patrick, Augusta, Robertson County).

Thomas Wrobleski (HHS) not on this list is a joke!! He is the best safety I saw all year...Awful!!!

He failed in not asking Skinner where his ballot was.

According to Skinner, he did not care enough to return information requests on how to even log in. So, to me, Gary Graves did not care if NKY was represented in the nomination process.

Two things interest me in this list:

 

Has to he be the first time a kid finished a season with one team and was already at a new school before being named 1st team All-State (McPeek).

And the funny thing is, he wasn't even the best lineman on his own team. Nothing against Cody, but Anthony Roark was the best line one Fairview's team the last two years.
