8 assists a game? :lol2:

There is one guy in the country averaging more than 7.5 a game. And you have them backwards FYI... :idunno:

Whoops- okay flop the names (darn twins).

I said 6-8 assists per game in conference, gave a range- low end to high end. I am even limiting this to conference play. I am not asking for Andrew (I think I got it now) to be a scorer at all. Focus on setting up teammates and defending.

We can't win a title, IMO, without someone sacrificing scoring for facilitating and defending.

Coach said in post game that he did not want the players helping on the drives to the basket, because they just kick it out to the three point line for jumpers.

I don't think Cal wanted them to let Smith consistently drive by them without offering some resistance, though.

About what I expected and predicted.

UL plays a terrible schedule and has no inside game. UK was the better team today and will be the better team in March.

Louisville's schedule had zero to do with this game...

OK lets split the difference. There is ONE guy playing for a high major team averaging at least 7 assists on the season. I get what you are saying, but the number you want just isn't realistic. If he could average 5 a game in SEC play, you'd get the desired result...

I don't want to split the difference, really. I think that he needs to be in that range for us to win the title. Maybe you are right and 5 a game will do it. He needs to facilitate and not turn the ball over. Maybe the more important number to focus on is 3:1 turnover ratio? I don't know - maybe I shouldn't focus on a number but as you said you get what I'm saying.

Harrisons didnt play great at times, but they played like superstars when UK needed it. That is why UK won, they played great at the times they needed to.

James Young did not shoot well, but he hit big shots. Did some other really nice things too, like grab 10 boards & dish 4 assists.

Thought Andrew Harrison played well after the first 7 or 8 minutes of the first half. Seemed to settle down & lead the team. Poythress brought a lot of energy & stepped up in lieu of Randle's absence. And that was the highlight of the game--UK getting the job done without its best player for the vast majority of the 2nd half.

UL will continue to struggle against better teams so long as they get zero production from the front court. Chane Behanan had as many points as mountain ref, which is inexcusable. Someone of his talent & experience level should play a more important role in a game like this. The Blackshear/Hancock combination was pretty bad too, scoring 12 points on 4-15 shooting (2-10 3pt FG's).

On the other hand, I really liked what I saw from Chris Jones & think he was UL's best player today. He was outstanding in the first half. But like the UNC game, the Cards couldn't get anything from someone other than him or Russ.

Neither of these teams is top ten, but it was a good win for UK & can give the team something to build on.

I thought it is 5-1? He beat Ricky twice two seasons ago.

You're right, I missed one.

I was listening to WKYT news tonight, they had Cal saying that they don't play until Jan. 8 and he was giving the guys 24hrs. off. Cal said that they did look good, finally played as a team but still had a long way to go. Practice Sunday (6pm) and starting on Monday they will be going 3X a day until the next game (1/8), they had to get better. I Love It.

Tons of positives from the Cats but the FT shooting is unacceptable. Tons of talk from Behanan and Harrell and those two cats were invisible.

And UL's coach said the crowd affected the refs more than his team... What a sore loser

The one time Russ was knocked to the ground it wasn't a foul but I know of three other times he wasn't even touched and a foul was called. They also missed the double dribble by Young prior to the oop.

^ Heck Russ could have walked to Louisville and back and a travel wouldnt have been called. Besides the first 5 min in which UK got a couple favorable calls, I thought the refereeing was a non issue. Heck Calipari almost got a technical for yelling at his own team :lol2:

And I think if he can do 40/3070 they'll be fine because he's athletic enough that it will cause the other team foul problems and open up the floor more. Dudes expectations are a bit much.

It may not have but I do t think it did them any favors.
