For years Highlands has been winning state titles with their defense. How many titles does SK have?

WC with over 900 yds total offense and over 700 on the ground. Seriously? WOW is right.

 

But still lost...WOW is right. WOW that Highlands has a backup QB that can complete his first 4 passes of the game for TD's.

 

WOW, I saw that same backup QB throw a absolute seed to one of HHS stud receivers last nite in the endzone and the receiver was in position scraping the back of the endzone and Hoge plants and throws a frozen rope across his body and the ball never touches the hands of the WR but hits him between the eyes, deflection and int.

Here's why there is zero concern...HHS scored 71 with their backup QB and one of their best receiver not playing receiver (because he was the QB) I could care less what outsider's opinions are about the defense. HHS folks know how good the defense is. But at the end of the day, they scored 71 points agains a very athletic 5A school with a backup QB and a key receiver not in his spot.

 

There is no 4A team (or many in any division) that can put anywhere near that many points on the board against even the same defense that was on the field tonight. So for me, not worried one bit.

 

On another note, I was extremely impressed with the WC program! They showed heart, determination, and most of all class! Very nice program!

At least we played up in class and didn't have Holy Cross on our schedule

Your are 100% correct JW but do you show them "that" team the WC tape or do you not play any head games with them and just show them the "reality tape", the Elder game...:thumb:

 

If I'm coaching and feel like my kids are mentally beat because of the name on the jersey, I do whatever I can to give them hope and show them that they have a chance to beat them.

As an outsider looking in, I say great job by WC for never giving up and showing a ton of heart. Definitely made things interesting. All this other hog wash is nonsense. No one likes a winner or a successful program and since Highlands has had more success than any other nky program over the last decade, it puts a big bullseye on their back. You may not like them but you have to respect them and the success they have had. Not a poster on here that would not change their schools success with Highlands success over the last decade. Amazes me how they lose a game to Elder and give up 69 points in a "Win" and people start panicking and casting stones. Only way to knock the big dog off the top of the mountain is to climb up there and face them, one on one, and knock them off. Can it be done? Absolutely, but if you climb up there, better be ready for a dog fight because they didn't get on top by claiming to be #1, they earned it. :thumb:

Maybe I should show up to more Highlands games so they have more close games.

:ylsuper:The only panic is coming from outside. Any Highlands fan worth his or her salt knows how to read between the lines of this final score. Highlands is fine, even though you might see a similar score against the mighty Boyd County Lions next week.
