First of all, before I make this post and ask this Question - I DO NOT know this as to be fact......I heard that Fairview has around 10-12 more kids out of Huntington, WVA that they have brought in for the playoffs. ........1.) I was told that a player only has to be listed on the roster a certain no. of days and have a certain no. of practices in to be considered a team member and be qualified for the playoffs. Is this true ? 2.) does anyone know the rules / khsaa guidelines for a player to be qualified for the playoffs ?

All of this statement didn't sound right to me but we are talking about Fairview and we know what they are capable of, have been penalized for and have are many more serious allegations against, being investigated on.

I am pretty sure the rule is that if a kid moves into a school once his student record is cleared and he is officially enrolled in school he has to have 10 official practices in pads which I think is 10 school days cannot be Sat. & Sun. then he would be eligible to play.

And by awesome I mean pathetic. If true, and I'm skeptical, everyone involved should be banned from sports...period. Any level, any country. While most of the time I would say this is a completely and utterly ridiculous accusation after reading this thread, I'm not so sure...

The play by play radio announcer from WLGC stated that Superintendent Bill Musick said they had the best team money could buy. Take that for what it's worth. WLGC carries Fairview football, btw.

 

 

That brings up the new Asst. Athletic Trainer being the mother of one of these kids along with hearing (cannot confirm) that another player out of W,VA mother as hired by Fairview schools as well, working in the cafeteria.

Also, I do know that Fairview has a couple of BIG $$ donors......an owner of an oil co. and a couple of other prominent businessmen. The one Oil man has certainly been known to finance Fairview in several "areas" in the past. I don't know at all but maybe helped in getting their first allegations hearing a couple of years ago moved to hometown Boyd Co. , I don't know - just sayin' ??? :idunno: :sssh:

That's why I stressed in that post that I am not saying that as fact. Other things mentioned earlier in this thread....yes but not this one.

The playoffs aren't for two weeks and "if" they were brought in last week that would have made it I believe.

If this is true, I wish KHSAA would boot them from any and all competition period. They want a football team they can have one and play whoever they can get to play them but they are not to be associated with Kentucky High School Athletics Association in any way. Let them compete on a national basis if they want, just not for state tournaments etc.

 

The death penalty would be very fitting if those allegations are true. If they are true I would garuntee you this isn't the first year they've done this type of stuff.

I'm with you. I just think it's unbelievable that anyone even thinks it could be true. 99.9% of the time no one would think it's true.

A text message from a Spring Valley, WV coach states that #3 Brown, who missed Fairview's game Friday, has enrolled at Spring Valley today.

 

There are a couple of coach McPeek's Marshall teammates coaching around the Huntington, WVA area. A couple of their (Fvew's) kids brought in before were supposedly kicked out of school in Huntington, were at Westwood - in pads, practicing with Fairview the next day. Seems like sme kind of pipeline to me.

I don't know how long that it will take for the khsaa to comlete the investigation, there are two weeks before the playoffs. Personally, I don't see how they (Fview) could be ruled eligible to compete in this season's playoffs but I am not the one that decides that.

If anyof these allegations are found to be true or if any of their players they used this season are found to be ineligible before the playoffs start and if KHSAA doesn't ban them from post season then that simply shows how weak and spineless and bad the KHSAA is.

Agreed but there is so much going around now, who knows ?

We were even told that a couple of the Fview players didn't even attend school at Fairview, listed as a student but were just drove for practice and back by a Fairview asst. coach who lives in no where but Huntington, WVA..

Should a player not attend the school that he is playing for and listed at that school as a student then that brings up an entire new list of illegal workings. Schools get a specified $$ amount for each student, if they are receiving money for a student that is not a student then that would constitute fraud I believe.

Again....Should all be true then I would hate it for the hometown kids but shutting the entire Fairview football program down for a year or so may make the statement needed.

A couple of things that I do know are that there are more than one or two parents of students that want to see the football shut down completely there due to all of this. They are sick of what has been going on since around 02' or so.

That wouldn't be the first time for them, Fairview shut their football program down once before due to no interest, they couldn't get enough kids pit to field a team/numbers were too low to practice.

Now, what chance is there a new player could join a team now and play this year, especially at a school being investigated already for impropriety?

I'm hearing a rally was held at the school in support of the Coach, AD, and Principal that had resigned.

 

Is it just me, or does a rally say "we condone cheating"?? Just curious.

Well after hearing all the other rumors, it really wouldn't surprise me if the Fview coaches would use names of kids that are actually enrolled at the school for the new kids he's bringing in for the playoff games.

 

Kind of hard to disprove something like that in time, wouldn't put it past them.
